Went to New Delhi for a business trip and found in Le Meridien a perfect location for preparing/having customer meetings. Several fine restaurants, a bar and plenty of small shops provide an excellent infrastructure for delighting eyes, stomach and jewel case.
The illumination system in the rooms provides a challenge for when it's time to go to sleep. Once you find out how to dim the sophisticated lighting down everything is on the highest level of comfort that a business traveller could possibly expect.
All that is crowned by a super friendly staff and first-rate service.
For me it's a strong 'like'.

the property is located at the best site in Lutyens Delhi. Looks grand. But inside the hotel they got to improve a lot.
The rates of Banquet are exhorbitantly high (Its almost twice as compared to Hyatt or Shangri La property). They are a non - neogotiable kind of guys.
The new interiors doesnt give a positive wibe. Its too dark a look.
The smoking floors are real smoking floors. They stink like some dingy joint.
The staff although is prompt but is so un-professional.

My second stay at the Hotel....very modern comfortable room with nice view and psychedelic lighting over the bed, large LCD TV with modern functional bathroom...nice wooden floors...service on the other hand really needs work at this Hotel > service at the Chinese restaurant on the top floor was really slow and the restaurant itself needs urgent renovation....service at the coffee shop was slow....the manager at the Spa was not interested in helping me at all since i was intruding on his computer time...health club was really small and attendants were busy doing their own thing....and lastly, the receptionists at both check-in and check out were quite rude and impolite. While recommending this Hotel (only because of the rooms), I would only stay there if my first 5 choices in New Delhi were sold out, which was the case this time.

The new renovations at this hotel are great - it is very modern, spacious and airy. Our room was large and very comfortable, if slightly dark. The service is great but in a less formal and old fashioned way that some 5* hotels, but the staff are very helpful.
We had a great meal in the monsoon restaurant and a nice lunch in the bistro although both restaurants were overpriced - as are the drinks and cakes in the chocolate cafe.
We did have some bad service from a driver that we booked through the hotel to take us to Agra - he was unhelpful, stopped off for an hour en route to attend to his personal business and had a bad attitude on the road, plus he was very expensive compared to external drivers. But this was not at all the experience within the hotel.
I wasn't a massive fan of Delhi and we stayed in 4 five star hotels in the city - but if friends of mine were going I would absolutely recommend this one, it was by far my favourite.
Oh and the bar is great.

A beautiful, sleek hyper-modern hotel...though it lacked local character, it was still wonderful. The lobby was hyper-modern and the food in the restaurant was delicious (though could have been more spicy). Exceptionally well-stocked complimentary toiletries, too.
