“Great Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Taj Palace Delhi, is one of the best hotels that i have stayed in. This place is located in one of the most serene surroundings of Delhi and also boasts of one of the easiest access road.

I stayed there for 3 nights and was always greeted by a warm and pleasant smile from the entire staff. I had food at their Indian Restaurant Masala Art and found it quite good.

The room that we stayed in was one of the re-furbished one and all the amenities that one could think for.

The only bad experience i had over here was with the concierge, from whom i had requested for some information. I had specifically told him the Taj Properties i would staying in Kerela and wanted some weather information from them. But the guy at concierge suggested that he Google the information rather calling his counterparts. Which i felt was one of the dumbest move, I have seen any one ever make.

Other than this, the room were always kept neat and tidy and the staff never pestered you for any kind of gratuity.

I would wanna thank the kind lady from the saloon who helped my wife drape a saree with all the patience she could muster up, i am sorry to have forgotten her name.

The security at the hotel is to be commended for, I had left my wedding ring at the wash basin in my room and when i came back, i still found it there, in-spite of my room being cleaned up in the evening.

It's a good stay rather the best place to stay in the National Capital...

Room Tip: The Refurbished rooms on the Pool side are great...

We had 2 nights here, at the start of a tourist trip to India. We were upgraded to a club room on level 6, which includes a club room with breakfast and afternoon drinks. Breakfast was included in our room rate anyway, but the afternoon drinks were most appreciated.
The room was clean and tidy, with excellent standard of furnishings. Great service from friendly staff. There were some major events on at the hotel while were there, but it didn't interfere with anything we wanted to do. Dinner at Masala Art was great!

Just returned from a business trip to India and stayed at the Taj Palace for the second time. I was not disappointed. The service is exemplary and living on the club floors is the ultimate experience for conducting business. The club lounge provide full access for meetings as well as breakfast and afternoon cocktails, ideal to meet clients.

My only caution, has to do with trying to get a non-smoking room. This is my second trip to the hotel and the second time I have been put in a smoking area despite my travel agent requesting a non- smoking room on the club floor. It does not seem to be an issue for the staff as they appear to treat both rooms the same, however if you are a non-smoker this may become a problem, although once in your room smoke from other rooms does not infiltrate, other than the situaiton where the room next door has a midnight smoker it appears to find its way throught the air conditioning vent.

Excellent hotel great service, second to none.

Room Tip: Choose a pool view, non smoking on the club floor and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at Taj Palace in February 2012 on a city break trip .The hotel has fantastic potential , the staff were very polite and helpful .One member of concierge was extremely helpful and he made efforts to book our lounge at Burj Khalia. His names was "Sunil". We will love to recommend to everyone to visit this hotel.

Room Tip: Speak with the concierge.

I stayed at Taj Palace in December 2011 on a business trip. Normally I would stay at the Oberoi but decided to try out another of Delhi's historic hotels. Upon arrival I was upgraded from a standard room to a 1-bedroom suite which was very spacious. It had a separate entry hall, living room, dining room, bedroom and dressing room. The service was exceptional, they took me straight to the room and did the check-in process in the room which was especially appreciated as I arrived on a late evening flight. They also had a selection of chilled fresh fruit juices as a welcome drink in the room.
My one complaint about the hotel is that the room was definitely in need of some updating. While I appreciate the historic charm of some of India's nicer hotels, the furnishings in the rooms at the Taj Palace were a bit worn and looked like they have seen better days.

We stayed at the Taj Palace for 1 night on 3 separate occasions in a 2 week tour of Northern India. As others have said this is a luxury hotel with a fantastic lobby, swimming pool and an excellent Indian restaurant - Masala Art where we ate on 2 nights. All 3 of our rooms faced the pool on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. 2 were first class but the one on the 3rd Floor was very tired indeed and badly in need of refurbishment; just 1 example was that the bath was painted with cracks on the base! Our only other complaint was that after eating in the very classy Masala Art restaurant I tried to go into the Blue Bar without changing my clothes but was denied entry because I was wearing Birkenstock sandals; couldn't work that one out.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room.

We stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions, the first, last and one other night during our organised tour of the Golden Triangle and Shimla. There is high security after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai but security staff mingled with others in traditional dress and did not impact adversely on the amenities. The welcome and general service were very good and staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient throughout. Public and private rooms were very clean and comfortable and offered everything we needed during our stay(s). We chose the extensive buffet menu in the Fontana restaurant where the food and service were excellent. The cost was higher than we had expected but was worth it. Recommended.
