“Good, modern, comfortable hotel”
Reviewed 12 November 2011

Very efficient and helpful staff. Large, very clean swimming pool. Hotel clean, modern, attractive. Restaurants offer good choice. Bedrooms of a decent size and very comfortable. Ideal location for International airport.
We arrived to find the hotel had no trace of our booking from agency but staff provided us with soft drinks(free of charge) in pleasant surroundings, asked us about our choice of rooms, were extremely helpful and everything was sorted out very quickly. Rooms good size, bed very comfortable, immaculate bathroom, pleasant garden view. Internet access in rooms or business centre if you haven't brought your laptop. A good choice of restaurants and cuisine. Large swimming pool, gym, spa etc. This was our second visit and we would certainly use it again. Cons - In an unattractive area, nothing much near the hotel, to get to shops etc you need to take a taxi which takes a while to get anywhere.

We stayed at The Grand for 3 days while in Delhi. We were on the club level floor (at the Expedia rate) and used several of the hotel's services.

The grounds and pool are beautifilly kept, with fountains and landscaping. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful with our every request. I couldn't even push my luggage across the lobby without at least 3 staff members offering to help.

The room was plush, and the bathroom facilities were very western and modern. The rain head shower was wonderful, and we had ample closet space for our things. Also, for international travelers, the rooms have built in electric adaptors in the wall.

I would EASILY give The Grand 5 stars, and would most definately stay there again!

Room Tip: Club level is worth the upgrade!

As the name suggests it is Grand. However it could have been anywhere so if you are looking for something authentic and indian, this place is not it. Having said that the food was super and same goes with the service. The bedrooms are well proportioned but big let down was the shower. The water just flows through and can be annoying. The pool side is not well attended in terms of bar snacks etc.

The hotel is a good stay for leisure trip and family holidays. There was no coverage in the 1st floor of the hotel and in the room one fixed line not working. This never helps when you are on a business trip. though the room decor was perfect.

The hotel is not bad but there are better places to stay in Delhi. While it is fairly new, the construction is not of good quality. We payed an exhorbitant fee to stay here ($300 per night) and it was not worth it at all. They were able to charge this because of the Formula One race in Delhi so the rate is usually lower. The worst thing about this hotel was the service - it was hit or miss and was miss 85% of the time. There were a few good staff but most were terrible. The room did not have a power adaptor and I had to wait 24 hours and call them three time to get one in my room. On a good note, the bed was great and the food (I ordered room service twice) was excellent.

There are a lot of good things about this hotel but I would probably look harder if I were to come to Delhi again. It is a very modern and western hotel so, if that's what you're looking for, it is perfect. We were looking for something with more of an Indian character. There are several restaurants, a swimming pool and a spa. I stayed for three nights on the Club level and the room was what you would expect from a four star hotel. Mini-bar, hair dryer, nice amenities, in room coffee, and very clean. Room service is available but I did not partake. The Club lounge has complimentary breakfast, coffee, and happy hour. I would recommend going downstairs to the Cascades for breakfast as there is more selection. For dinner I would recommend the Caraway. It is pricey (with wine) but delicious. I think this is perfect for a business trip, but as a tourist seeking a more authentic experience, I would look elsewhere.

Pros: Proximity to the airport, cleanliness, spa availability.

Cons: Slow service in just about every area, only two hours of complimentary internet on the club level. You have to pay at all other times.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a garden or courtyard view.

Everything is excellent. Room is spacious. Bathroom was also very spacious and special. A lot of toiletries though toothpaste, toothbrush and razor were not there. However, lobby garden, restaurant is very nice. Food is also delicious. There are four big shopping malls very nearby.
