“Ony good for Conferences, Not good for Stay”
Reviewed 8 July 2012

Ok, this maintained by government and mostly used by Air India Pilots and hostesses as they have to stay here only and next comes all government conferences etc. I happened to be here for APRICOT 2012 in February and the ambiance is average but rooms are not upto the mark. I have uploaded few pics which will say enough about the Hotel.

A typical government hotel with staff having a pathetic attitude and very poor maintenance of what was once a very beautiful structure. The toilets were leaking and there was a layer of green algae or fungus on the bottom of the wash basin. The bath towels smelt as if they were not put through laundry after last use.Even though the location is great the service leaves a lot to be desired. Am definately not coming back here.

what was once the pride of delhi... had been languishing in the dumps for years thank fully to the recent redevelopment and renovation the hotel has had a fresh in jection of life but that doesnt mean its as good as any... still leaves a lot to be desired... the hotel is run by a bunch of bureaucrats need i say more... rooms are just about ok by 5 star standards service standards vary from time to time... if you grease their palms well enough you are the king then.... the breakfast at the coffee shop is just bad

Checked into the Hotel after the horrible stay at the hotel with a similar name in same area. This hotel was only slightly expensive as compared to the previous hotel, but brought about welcome changes. The hotel also has a nice club F-Bar which attracts good crowd. The lobby is grand and the service is decent for the hotel of its size. However, i would not call it a 5 star property, the rooms needs some re decor coz it feels like they are still stuck in the last decade. Overall it was a decent experience.

My parents used to stay in this hotel quite often when I was a kid. The rooms were luxurious and clean, the breakfast was a wholesome indian breakfast, the staff was courteous, etc.

The sad bit is, I recently visited this hotel and guess what? Nothing's changed haha! Now the rooms seem dated, the reception and lobby needs maintenance and even the staff seems the same lol!

However, I still like the place and because its a part of ITDC, the tariffs are still quite affordable. The location is good too and that's probably why, I still choose to indulge in the old-world charm and stay here every once in a while :)

Stayed here a couple of times while waiting for an early morning flight from Delhi as they offer both hotel rooms and day rooms.

very much geared up for the western or expensive traveller which is reflected in the price. However you get what you pay for and it has always been a very pleasant stay there. The hotel has been happy to organise trips into the city as well as transfers to the airport, even at 4am.

the beer in the bar is cold and the bar food is hot and tasty.

There is free wifi which is a bonus as well.

it is quite tucked away from the rest of the city in that you could be in any country resort but close enough to the airport that it doesn;t take long to get there.

Worth a stay but not if you are on a budget.

We come to this goverment hotel since 20 years, but only for few days, after we have had some luxury feeling in Sherton Dehli or Oberoi. What is better, go first to the bad and then to the number ones? You will say first the bad, but for us is different, arriving with the early morning flights you better go for the 5 stars, and after been established in the feeling of India you can change to the another atmosphere. What is to find there? Book a superior room- still cheap comparing to the others- and find out, cheap taxis waiting for you outside, gratuite airport transfer, horrible atmosphere for the desigh but- what a feeling! You are in India now! Fortune tellers, wonderful shops and the best food we found in India, wonderful buffett, bestl good indian cooking, good service with old waiters who recognize you after 6 years. And music at dinner, modern indian music in a soft and wonderful harmonic way and singers, nice pool, spa and fitness and- the most important- a wonderful beauty salon with everyting, take hair off bikini line, massage, facial, and hairdresser etc. Nice yewells, good price! time has stopped here! But he food!!!! I cannot say that anything there in Dehli has such a good cooked food! And the night is for the indian youngsters, ther is a good working discoteke, and if you have to fly early- almoust normal, you see the indian young generation coming out and you think you are in London or Munich. Try!
