Chandni chowk or as claimed as the heart of Delhi is an always bustling place. You get down of the metro and the old world welcomes you, it hosts not only the Jama Masjid but also many small and medium size restaurants with authentic Mughlai food and Kareems is undoubtedly the best of the lot. its an unique place which has something for every one and i have never seen such a varied crowd at one single place ever. The place as id is asking you " what you want?" A tour of the Indian last dynasty go and spend some time in Jama Masjid during the dusk and fill in yourself with as much spirituality as you can and when after spending a well amount of time with the history and your self you feel hungry come out and the food street or as the locals say " khau gali" awaits you with variety of kebabs and other dishes strait from the kitchen of the Mughal sultanate. Its pretty obvious that if you are a foddie be it veg or non veg you can not decline the temptation for these mouth watering foods. While you are walking past the shops and restaurant do pay attention to the buildings and you can witness the architectural heritage of the Mughal India. If you happen to visit the place at night you are surely bound to feel that you are slowly going in the grasp of history the quietness of the Jama Masjid and the flavours of the restaurants outside is one of its kind in itself.
Apart from the historical side chandni chowk has shops of almost everything and the rates are also pretty reasonable and yes you can bargain here to your hearts content, be careful about picking up the right product as there is no guarantee for most of the products with that bit of caution rest its happy shopping.
