Owner description: This architectural wonder looks like an enormous lotus blossom, reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House. Too bad the interior isn't even worth a look.

A superb architectural place with green & peaceful environment. After Taj Mahal I liked the lotus temple 2nd in my whole North India-Nepal trip. It is better than kutub minar to visit in Delhi. Don't miss it.

“Just OK”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

This is certainly a scenic building, reminiscent, we were told, of the Sydney Opera House. Maybe it was just me, or the wonderful, historic, beautiful sites that we had visited earlier in the day, but this place was OK, at best. Perhaps, a nice picture from the sidewalk is sufficient. India is full of such grand architecture and culture...spend your time concentrating on that!

“beautiful architectural temples in India!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

It is really nice to visit and worth the entrance fee . The Lotus Temple, recent architectural marvel of the Bahai faith, located in south Delhi on the way to Agra. Shaped like a half opened Lotus flower, this temple is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. It is open to all faiths. The lotus flower signifies purity and peace. The religion is meant for people from all races, religious backgrounds and culture from around the globe. It represents the Bahai faith, - an independent world religion. A wonderful building !

“Alternative thinking”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

With a lull in our programme we were taken to this site and walking through a delightfully tended garden park area joined the queue waiting to enter the main building. This main hall is used as a place for contemplation and around this building with a high domed ceiling are various messages in the same context as sayings from spiritual leaders.
Having left there we walked a short distance before entering the museum that provided some wonderfully laid out sayings, historical relevance to the origins and place that was explained by the young student guide.
Although we offered a donation it was rejected although no reason was given. If you want to re-look at a different way of belief, this surely would be quite high on any list.

but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this Bahai Temple. There are much more interesting sites in New Delhi.
