I loved this hotel. The room was pretty big, clean and confortable. The service was helpful... un some cases, too helpful... but OK. The breakfast is served either in the restaurant or in the terrace, and could be improved. Do not expect a typical continental brekfast. A couple of french toast with dark coffee (very well served), but that's all. On the other hand, the restaurant is superb. Very good food.. a little expensive, but it does deserve. The service in the restaurant was quite slow. In general. I would recommend this hotel and if I would have the chance to visit Delhi again, I would certainly consider this hotel as a choice.

On our arrival day for our Golden Triangle tour we arrived a few hours too soon for the check in time from the airport. After receiving an apology that our allocated room was not yet vacated we had no option but to wait; but then we were shown to another room which had just vacated, at the back of the hotel. Unfortunately this room was quite claustrophobic, it did not have the feel of a 5 star hotel - but this was Delhi and we were very tired and grateful to be given a room earlier than expected. This room had no view at all, not a problem as we were touring most of the day - it was clean and had a good quality bed and had a very good bathroom.
We had a power cut on each of the days that we stayed - but due to the very poor light from the tiny window, the room became absolutely pitch black, night or day - and so we found that the only thing to do was feel your way around to the very comfortable bed, then lie down to avoid injury from the small area left to walk in, around the maze of furniture.
There is a busy railway line very near to the rear of the hotel and so our room would not appeal to light sleepers as the goods trains rattle through at all hours! I would not wish for my review to deter anyone from staying as I am sure that the other rooms must be far better.
The food served in the restaurant is excellent - presentation was 1st class.
Each and every one of the staff were very helpful and very polite and did not hang around waiting for the usual compulsory tips - a pleasant change. A polite greeting was given by every member of staff, whether meeting n a corridor or being served.
I thoroughly enjoyed the complementary massage session.
We soon realised that the hotel may be hard to find again if taking an evening stroll around the local area - we quickly found that there is realistically nowhere to stroll to.
It is a shame that the outside seating area on the lawn is not made more appealing, as it would have been nice to sit out and have breakfast served outside.
All in all we enjoyed our 1st stay at the Manor House Hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front

Unknown to my new wife and I our travel agent had informed all the venues where we were staying in India that we were on our honeymoon.
When we arrived here at the beginning of our holiday we were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine in our room and a complimentary head massage.
The food in the restaurant was superb and on our second visit my wife spoke to the chef who gave her the recipe for his delicious squash soup which we have regularly now we are back at home.
This is definitely a place we will hopefully be staying at again.

The Manor is a silent oasis in Friends' Colony, a residential enclave in south delhi which you can only reach by taxi. But it is worth. No honks. No noise. Just fabolous rooms, friendly staff, Indian atmosphere and fantastic food. The Indian Accent is the best restaurant where I had dinner in Delhi. Ask for room 2 or 3 that have a pleasant private terrace (beware mosquitos by the way). Worth it!
