“Blessed place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Martrydom place is blessed. Charming architecture with Gold palanquin at the centre is eye catching. Perfect place for those who search within and God.

Symobolic of religious freedom where 9th Guru and his 3 Sikhs were martyred for saving Hindu and Sikh faith from cruel Mughal empire.

Saturday/Sunday twilight visit is the best where people come from far away for selfless sewa and free tasty food distribution.

Matchless place

“impressive history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

The site is where Guru Tegh Bahadur's head was secreted after his execution by Emperor Aurangzeb in 1675. The execution site is opposite this Gurdwara,
Guru Tegh Bahadur remains the only leader of a religious movement to sacrifice himself for the freedom of speech/worship of people of other faiths. The philosophy was way ahead of the UN Charter on human rights.
Worth the experience if in the hustle and bustle of the old city.
