“Very voisy but good location”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

Stayed for one night, room facing railway station.

+ Great location if you are planning to use the railway. Not so great for the city centre.
+ thousands of small shops around, most closing after 10pm, so you can always get something to eat etc.
+ Clear room with A/C
+ Nice and lively yellow colors everywhere
+ Friendly and helpful stuff
+ Reasonable price for what it offers

- Noise from the street ends at midnight and starts again at 5 am. It's a very busy but narrow road so constant honking can drive you crazy. No amount of insulation can stop a truck's horn.
- The lift needs two hands to get in/out, one to push/pull the door and the other to slide the protective bars. If you are carrying things, it can be frustrating.
- WiFi can get very slow, forget about streaming
- Limited non-Indian TV channels

Room Tip: Not for the light sleepers, maybe rooms at the back are quieter

Stayed in this hotel for one night as we had an early train the next morning. Location is great if you need to be near the train station, however we were warned against walking round the local area, especially after dark. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious, and the bathroom was one of the nicest we had in India. However, the noise in our room was unbearable. The hotel is on a busy street corner and the traffic noise was continuous throughout the night. This was not helped by our room having an external door leading onto a balcony overlooking the street. A real shame as this hotel would be great for a short term stay, as long as you have one of the rooms that doesn't overlook the street!

Hi missjjp87,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it's really appreciated.

We're glad you enjoyed the location of bloomrooms @ New Delhi Railway Station, it is super convenient if you're taking a train or just looking to be based in the train station vacinity.

The downside of being so close to the station is the noise from the trains and the traffic can sometimes be heard in the rooms. We're sorry this was the case during your stay and we assure you we're working on solutions to improve the sound proofing of the rooms facing the street.

If you want to stay in a less noisy area of the city, we would highly recommend staying in bloomrooms @ Link Rd, which is conveniently located opposite Jangpura Metro Station in a much quieter neighborhood of the city, very close to famous sights such as Lodhi Gardens and Humayun's Tomb.

We hope you will consider staying with us again next time you're in Delhi.

Safe travels,

The Team

The area is pretty awful (but well connected), and the road outside the hotel is noisy. However, inside it is an oasis of modernity and cleanliness. It was nice to get away from the weird smells of previous Delhi hotels, and to have reliable and fast wifi.

However, the room I was in (222) had a massive issue. The air conditioning unit was fine, but there was another air vent above the doorway that just constantly blasted cold air into the room 24/7. There was no way to close the vent. This made me ill while trying to sleep in the freezing cold, which had big effects on my trip.

Admittedly, they would probably have switched rooms if I had asked, but I already asked to swap once because they hadn't put me on the non-road side like I'd asked, and I had already OK'd the new room.

The safe in my room would also have the batteries fall out of the door when it's closed, potentially locking your valuables irredeemably inside. That could have been an issue. Furthermore, the TV was in a location where you couldn't properly watch it from bed.

Room Tip: Not 222! Get the non-road side.

Hi BDory,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it's really appreciated.

The Railway Station area is certainly not for the feint hearted, however as you've mentioned bloomrooms @ New Delhi Railway Station does try to provide an oasis of modernity in the chaos. For travelers looking for a less crazy location we highly recommend trying bloomrooms @ Link Rd, which is located in a quieter part of the city close to many key sights such as Humayun's Tomb.

Your comments regarding the fresh air duct have been passed on immediately to our Engineering Team. If you had passed these comments onto the Hotel Manager at the time we could have had this altered - sorry we didn't get to hear about this earlier and make your stay more comfortable.

We have also noted your feedback on the safe and will be checking this immediately as the batteries should not be exposed in the first place.

We hope to see you again at bloomrooms soon and guarantee all of your concerns about your stay this time will not be an issue on your next visit.

Safe travels,

Is it a budget hotel or is it a premium hotel? That is the question you will keep asking yourself during your stay at Bloomrooms. At INR 2,500 per night, it is an absolute bargain. Add in free wi-fi, mineral water in rooms, and free coffee, you would think this is a steal.

Be warned that the rooms are small (reminded me of my college dorm) but very comfortable. Each room has a TV, AC, and an excellent shower with premium toiletries.

The location of the hotel is great if you have a train to catch but the street itself is very noisy and not the best place to stay if you are looking for quiet and peace.

Stayed for one night in a Compact Room on the 8th Jan, 2014.

Room was compact but had everything I needed for my overnight stay. Super comfortable bed and pillow, clean room, working wi-fi, didn't use the shower but the bathroom was modern and clean. All staff were very professional and friendly.

Hotel organised an airport pick-up for me which went smoothly, driver was holding a distinctive yellow sign and I had his mobile number which was handy as I was held up at immigration.

Hotel cafe was very nice too, had a coffee and pastry, met my friends there to plan our onward journey.

Train station is in walking distance.

Only potential negative could be the noise, it didn't bother me as I was only staying one night and I kind of expected it as it is in a busy part of town but for some people or longer stays it might be annoying.

I would definitely stay here again.

The reviews and location drew us to Bloomrooms as we were overnighting in Delhi between train journeys.

While the rooms are small (and we had one of the larger ones) they are carefully designed and well equipped. The bed was the most comfortable we had experienced in six weeks travelling in India.

The attached cafe is also excellent serving good pizza and coffee. The INR300 breakfast is also really good.

So why not five stars? Well we hoped to have a lie in before an 18 hour overnight train journey but were rudely awaken at 0715 by staff dragging furniture across tiles outside our room and then proceeding to power hose it not five yards from the room. They did stop and apologised but the damage was done. Hopefully that's a one-off.
