I was booked in this hotel by conference organisers. This is a well located, large property with spacious rooms and some nice furniture. This is a public sector hotel and service levels are very poor. A difficult check-in process where three staff try to figure out who should do it. When I reach the room I find that the telephone does not work. The housekeeping tells me that the phone will be set right next morning. When I go down to have dinner I find that the restaurant is closed. The reception staff do not now that the restaurant did not open that day, but still keep telling me go to the closed restaurant. The room had a coffee maker, but not milk or sugar. When I ordered one night, the food did not arrive as they were not able to make what I ordered, but forgot to tell me that they are unable to serve. A neighbouring restaurant attached to Hotel Ashok within the same compound saved the day for me. Breakfast is basic, but decent.
If you have the time and patience to deal with those who have no desire or aptitude to serve, please brave it out. Otherwise avoid the place.

Stayed for night on an official visit. What I admire the most about this hotel is their will to succeed. despite a govt owned hotel they are trying to match the hospitality extended by the private operators. The change in attitude is visible. It is altogether different issue that govt has no business to be in the hotel business.

Room Tip: It is a convenient hotel if you have work in chanakyapura. The hotel is spacious.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and the hotel is built akin to the many other government hotels in the country and has a tremendously old look to it. They do not have a coffee shop where buffet meals are served. Buffer breakfast was very very average in terms of spread and taste. They have different restaurants in the hotel, run by outside managements, where you can eat but bill to the room. Staff is courteous. For the price that they charge I guess it is pretty vfm considering that it is situated in one of the best addresses in the capital.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the elevators or the walk to the room can be really strenuous

Stayed for night on an official visit. Cannot be called a hotel, it is just like any other Govt guest house. There is inefficiency seeping out of every corner. Although rooms are pretty decent, and location is very good, but it is in very poor state of health. Despite that the staff seemed to be enjoying their work since almost all of them were very polite, helpful to their capacity (which is rather limited) and over-weight!!!!

I stayed at Hotel Samrat for only one night and found the hotel to be just average. While the room was clean, bed linen was slightly worn out. Bathroom fittings were also partly rusted and health faucet was only partly functional. The toiletries provided were of good quality. Staff was also courteous and helpful. Overall ambience, however, was neither exciting nor soothing - it was somewhat drab.

ןf you can avoid staying in this hotel –avoid

stayed one night in this hotel as a gift of an organization.
this hotel is a hotel that is past was better than his future.
looks like a government run hotel in all aspects .
I rate hotels according to 6 conditions:
1. location -is very good.
2. Room and facilities.- well- everything looks old and unattended. Low standard.
3. Breakfast - bad.
4. Price - there are many types of deals so i couldn't relate.
5. service - the workers are nice and try to help but the conditions of the hotel is bad.
6. Overall feeling –would I come back -no.

Room Tip: if you don't have to - try to find better hotel.
