Owner description: Hauz Khas village was known in the medieval period for the amazing buildings built around a reservoir and drew a large congregation of Islamic scholars and students to the Madrasa for Islamic education. Today, some of India's most prestigious institutes are situated in the neighborhood, including the Indian Institute of Technology, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The village itself retains its old-world charm, enhanced by well-manicured green parks planted with ornamental trees all around with walk ways, and surrounded by gentrified market and residential complexes which have sprung up around the old village. The reservoir itself has been reduced in size and well landscaped with water fountains. The village structure that existed in the medieval period was modernized in mid-1980s, projecting a quiet, upscale identity that attracts tourists from all parts of the world.

“Deer Park”
Reviewed 8 June 2012

I just loved the place with is abounding natural beauty. The deer park seems great, with the lake ahead just adds to the beauty of the place.A perfect place to visit this summer to let yourself feel amidst nature and relax. You can always go for a lunch or a drink in Pind Balluci ,Which would offer you the best food and service.

“Could be more”
Reviewed 7 June 2012

If better planned this could be a very entertaining are. Nice shops, restaurants and cafes, however, the dust, dirt and lack of planning makes the ares a place where I personally go for sth in particular and live soon. It is a pitty really.

“HauzKhas village”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

The ruins could use a little help and there are few too many unruly young men wandering around, but the gardens are a nice walk or picnic spot. And the artsy atmosphere of the surrounding village area is fun walk through.

“Favourite spot in Delhi”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

Whether you want to shop, eat drink or chill..best place to go. No need to visit any other markets in Delhi for young people. Great artsy crowd..good food and reasonably priced drinks. Also some awesome up and coming designers, all quite pricey though, and cute art galleries and little lanes to discover.
