We had a few days in this lovely butik hotel on the way back home from Himalayas. It's a great place for exploration of the city, relaxation and enjoying of delicious food. We'll get back soon. Since now it's a must for us to be here once we are in Delhi.

If you are looking for luxury and comfortable accommodation in New Delhi then stop searching and start booking. I recently spent 6 nights at Shanti Home and I was really genuinely sorry to leave at the end of my stay. The staff are incredible and cannot do enough for you (and not in an ‘well this is my job’ kind of way!), they really do want to look after you. Personally I enjoyed the location of Shanti Home too. It is away from central Delhi, but I felt I got a better feel of how people in the suburbs live – you were close enough to real life Delhi, in luxury, without people trying to sell you things as soon as you walk out the door.

You are also close to the subway station, however be warned you do need to cross a busy road without a crosswalk. The first time I did it, the hotel actually sent an employee with me to show me where the station was and to help me buy my ticket, it was then I learned the art of crossing a road in Delhi! (Not for the faint hearted!). The staff will suggest things for you to do and I would recommend taking their day trip option too.

Food at the hotel was fresh and delicious. I cannot say enough again for how great the service was. It was also so nice to enjoy breakfast and dinner on the rooftop patio with views over west Delhi. Also, you must get a massage when you are staying at Shanti Home, although as someone previously mentioned on trip advisor, you do bare all! Although I didn’t have a problem with that.

Get in touch now with Shanti Home and I promise you will be glad that you did. It truly is a welcoming Oasis in a sea of complete and utter chaos!

This is a great hotel with friendly staff and offering a nice change from the chain hotels.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and organised all transport to and from the airport and train station and got us a good taxi and driver for a day of sightseeing in the city. The hotel is in a suburb so requires use of the Metro to get to the city centre. The advantage to this is that being in the suburb gives you a completely different perspective on the city yet it is still easy to get to the main sights.

The rooms are comfortable, very clean and the hotel has free wi-fi.

Breakfast was simple and straightforward. It is taken on the roof terrace and while hot up there at this time of year, felt comfortable and had good views over the surrounding area. We also had dinner at the hotel one evening and that was very good.

We booked directly with the hotel and as ever this is the best way of getting the good rates and our transfers were included along with a free massage each.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a slightly different perspective on the city and avoiding the chain hotels.

Shanti Home is an incredible, warm and welcoming place to stay amidst the craziness of the streets of Delhi. The manager Pooja connected with us before we even arrived by answering our many questions, setting up a tour to Agra and assisting with the purchase of train tickets. She organized our pick up at the airport in the early morning hours and offered us food when we arrived. Unfortunately our bGs did not arrifro with us. Pooja took us on our first rickshaw ride to the nearest mall to purchase some clothes and much needed necessities. That was something I will never forget! Her kindness was overwhelming! Our room was cool and comfortable with both air conditioning and fans. The hotel is secure with a security guard at the entrance and always someone around to answer any and all questions. The staff are incredible! There isn't anything that they could or would not do for us! The food was fantastic! Breakfast was incuded in our package. It included fresh juice, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, eggs made to order and specialty Indian foods. Dinners were always made fresh and served in the most elegant way. The food was extraordinary! ... Tasty, delicious and extremely fresh! The service in the rooftop Lantern Restaurant was perfect. We felt like royalty! The staff were there to ensure that our every needs were met. As educators, we were interested in the school system in Delhi. Pooja this this up for us. We had an amazing time visiting with the children and staff at a local school! Although Shanti Home is a little out of the downtown craziness, that is a plus. The markets and people around Shanti Home allowed us to experience the culture in a safe and beautiful way. It was close to the Metro and so we were able to get to all the sites and shopping very easily. Pooja even walked us there to show us where to go and what to do. I would not have wanted to stay in the craziness of Connaught Place or elsewhere downtown. Shanti Home was our home away from home. It should be the number 1 place to stay in Delhi!! It certainly was for us!!!

We spent our first day in India at Shanti Home and it was a true oasis amidst the heat and chaos. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Our room was spacious for our family (two adults and two 11 year-olds). The rooftop restaurant had a good view and was a great spot for meals. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, and were also really helpful with travel advice and suggestions. We also had massages and facials which were well priced and refreshing after 20+ hours from New Zealand. We would definitely stay here again.
