Execllent service from all staff. Superb rooms and very good rooftop restaurant. Reasonably close to Metro for travel to old/new Delhi sights, but little else of interest in the locaility. Prices are high for such a distsnce from town.Excellent and interesting furnishings and furniture makes this place quite special.

We stayed there for a night, we reached very late around 10 PM and checked out by 8 AM,. so could not fuly explore the hotel and the metro station.

Even though it was almost 10: 30 PM, they opened the kitchen and the tandoor oven for us and the dinner was excellent. The food was fresh, well made and service was exceptional. The chilled beer was good. The restaurant is at roof top. Breakfast was also very good.

There is a public room with TV and lounge with some movie selections. They also have a tailor shop , a small gym and a handi craft shop in the basement.

Staff at check in was very good and helpful. Room we stayed was small and felt cramped (one of the luxury rooms) , though bathroom was fine. Location is not very convenient, quite a bit of drive from the airport. The prices are a bit higher for the room, they could reduce the price, considering that rooms are not very spacious.

Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Having endured an awful stay at a certain 5 star hotel in Connaught place which I have also reviewed I was delightfully surprised at the Shanti Home. A room which far surpassed that of the five star, service which was a delight to behold and while the location wasn't great it was nothing a train in and a taxi home couldn't solve. I watched the world cup final on my own in their TV room and was brought whatever my heart desired (beer and Indian snacks!). Not to mention the superb advice I received whenever required from reception.

I felt like the Lord of the manor and to top it all off they sent me an ecard for my birthday ! Stellar job and if I am ever back in Delhi I know where I'm going !

Because of earlier enthusiastic reviews on tripadvisor I arrived at Shantihome with high expectations, but they were nevertheless easily surpassed. The hotel is spotless, the service excellent and the restaurant a delight. I happened to book a 'special offer' that included an Ayurvedic massage and a gourmet dinner - and both turned out to be memorable experiences. The only blemish is the location, which is not very central, but then there is a Metro station close by and in Delhi 'central' is an unclear concept as almost any trip by car will turn out to be a trial of sorts. The only time that was not the case was when I chose to leave for Agra at 5 AM, which turned out to be a very good idea.

This was the first hotel I stayed at in India and so far nothing else has come close. The service was great and staff were really attentive, providing suggestions of where to go, how to get there and how much things should cost. The rooms are spotless and there is a lovely open air restaurant at the top. What I really liked about this hotel was that the advice on what to do and where to go was not given with the aim of making them more money (for example, to see certain sites they recommended I take the metro, which not only got me where I needed to go but allowed me to 'experience' Delhi at virtually no cost). The only downside is the location which is not central but the metro station is only a couple of minutes walk away.

This establishment is located in Janakpuri in a part of Delhi where the reality of everyday life in the capital stare you in the face. The hotel is near a metro station (Uttam Nagar East) around 35 minutes from the centre of the city. The establishment itself is good. The room we stayed in was good. The staff and service were excellent and highly attentive. They had been extremely well trained. The food was truly outstanding. The menu was small, as you would expect in a place which serves high quality food. This is better than any Indian food I have ever tasted in the UK. More importantly, we ate here five nights in a row and the quality did not waver. The restaurant was on the rooftop, which was a bit problematic in the coldest Delhi winter for years, but external heaters made a difference. I can't imagine that this would be a problem at any other time of year.
