We ordered kosha mangsho, bhapa ilish, chicken biryani and chicken curry for main course. Not even a single dish was 'edible'. Biryani to some extent was bland but fine for the kid however the yogurt was extremely salty inspite of getting it changed once..... only thing we managed to finish were the starters - fish fry and tandoori chinken which were good.
Shelling out money for good food doesnt hurt but spending for this utter crap just for name sake really hurted. I have eaten at the orignal calcutta branch and it was worth every penny.this franchise at cyber hub is a fad.

It is the best place to eat in Nehru place- whether you are to entertain an official guest or spend a few hours in between your Bio-Metrics at one of the foreign countries' centres or Visa Interviews. Like it for the ambience and the good service. And, of course, for the food quality. Was first introduced by a Bengali friend who loved the different varieties of fish here. Although I am a vegetarian, I became a regular,....

We always love to eat at this nice old restaurant whenever we visit Nehru Place for Visa interviews or bio-metrics. The food quality is at its best, and so is the service with smile. We are not Bengali food lovers, but still the overall ambience and taste draws us to this restaurant, high cost not withstanding

This place is sure to weigh a bit on your pocket, period. :-) But then, the cost is forgotten (till the bill arrives) when you taste the heavenly things on the menu. We had our eternal favorite - the Kosha Mangsho (mutton) with Luchi (fried fluffy flour breads) which was super. The Pabda fish cooked in mustard with rice was very good, although I've tasted better elsewhere. The Pulao was excellent and the accompanying prawns were also good. We didn't dare to sample their signature Bhapa Illish fish, just by weighing its price (in higher 3 figures if I may specify) against our desire. I've heard they've a buffet spread as well which we'd try some day. Till then: Overall a very good experience.

If you are a Bengali or have any association with Bengali food, and are visiting this restaurent to relive nostalgic flavours of your moms home cooking, then you will be disappointed. The whole idea of eating at this restaurent is to get a taste of home cooked food taken a few notches higher. So while the the" Chorchoris" and "Ghontos" and "Kasha Mangsho" might be names which remind you of home cooked food, actually you will get a more evolved version of the same meant to ,also titiiate, the taste buds of those who are uninitiated to the flavours of Bengal.

In the absence of any another Bengali Restaurent in Delhi, this is the best option for Bengali food. Fresh, well cooked but not too oily, not to spicy , wellpresented - its a treat for Delhi Bongs as well as nonBongs.

I am quite a regular at the place. Love the food and the small special touches like their Bori Bhaja served at the beginning during lunch hours, Tomato/Aamer.. Chutneys, Nolin Gurer Icecream, etc
