We spent two nights at the beautiful Haveli while visiting our daughter who is living in Delhi. Prior to our stay at the Haveli, we spent two nights in southern Delhi and three nights in Kerala - this was the topping on our Indian sundae! This historical property is beautifully restored and definitely an amazing oasis in the middle of old Delhi. We were a bit concerned when our taxi dropped us off in the middle of the road and pointed down a narrow alley, but we made it there no problem - thanks to the assistance of some helpful locals - we are clearly not the first foreigners to look completely lost in the same spot! The rooms are spectacular, albeit not quite soundproof, but an amazing experience overall. Even if you don't stay here, it worth coming to the Haveli for a drink on the rooftop and taking in the views of Red Fort, Jama Masjid and all of the hustle and bustle below. There's no place like it (the only restored Haveli in Delhi) - highly recommend for an amazing and memorable experience! (Our room was perfect for the three of us - a king size bed in the main room, and a separate bedroom with a single for our daughter - ask for room 101 if you have three people.)

Room tip: Although our room #101 wasn't a suite, it had a separate bedroom with a single bed - perfect for three people.

This is a wonderful hotel hidden in the heart of Old Delhi. After winding through back alleys you find yourself in a secret oasis in the city. The staff is very accommodating and the breakfast is great. The bathroom has the best shower we saw in India! The rooms are spotless and everything smells clean and fresh! The metro is an easy few blocks away. Loved our stay at the Dharamapura!

Room tip: The suite is worth the extra $$

My husband planned a surprise for my birthday – a dinner date at Lakhori Haveli, Dharampura. Reaching there requires quite an effort; we took the metro till Chawri Bazaar, then a rickshaw followed by a walk in a narrow lane. The walk in the narrow lane gets a little scary especially when you don’t belong to that part of Delhi. Then suddenly the haveli lights mesmerize you, and you discover you are in a different world. For the return, we booked an uber from Jama Masjid police station as it was10.15pm and roads had decongested. The beautiful ambience of the haveli is so mesmerizing. We sat on the ground floor but we did take a tour of the terrace. The terrace has its own charm. Amazing ambience!
We ate palak chaat, I found it very heavy. I would say the Palak chaat at Café Lota scores more points. The server later told me that if one intends to eat main course then we don’t advise Palak Chaat. Chicken tikka was delicious. After the starters and drinks we could not eat main course, so we jumped to the best part – the Desserts! The Kulfi were a gastronomic delight. The kesar pista kulfi was a 10/10. Definitely the best I’ve ever tasted. The pan was equally good but I would put their pan kulfi and Dhaniram’s pan kulfi on the same top position. The fennel in pan kulfi added to its taste. Then we thought of exploring another dessert sitting on their menu - Aaloo pan ka Zarda! We found the name interesting, we enquired our server about the dish and we found the description interesting as well. It took some time for this dish to come but we weren’t disappointed. I would just say – do try it!

Today was our second visit to Dharampur Haveli and the food quality and deteriorated from the last time we were here. To start with ... the palak patta chaat was extremely soggy, the aloo tikis were not crisp and the mutton stew was very creamy... I'm hoping to see a difference in my next visit as I had very high expectations after my first meal.

Immense thanks for our wonderful stay! On our first visit to Delhi we stayed in the Royal Plaza as we thought we could trust it. The rooms were uncared for and the staff seemed very unenthused by their jobs. WE thought we would try something more boutique - thank gosh we did!!! The building and renovation are like nothing I have ever seen before. But even better is your wonderful team. Seem to genuinely love their jobs. Amit in particular took such great care of us, remembering our breakfast requests after day one, looking after our baby when I was sick and tending to our every need. HE is the one whose name we remember, but many others were wonderful too. Whatever you are doing to keep them inspired and working so hard - keep doing it! We will be back.

Room tip: beautiful rooms, far better than the big chain hotels,
