Yes at last one good restaurant that lived upto it's classy reputation. Had visited the Olive Bar n Kitchen at the Qutab for a business dinner with some clients from the US. While the ambience and the overall feel Neither excited me nor impressed me as much as I had heard about it , the overall experience and service was definitely of high standards. The starters (Mezze platter) was a treat to eyes and was quite remarkable in quality and presentation (while compromising on the size of portion ). Ideally given the size of the table the server should have proactively told us that one platter wouldn't be enough . The chicken tikka skewers on the sides were a perfect combo to the Mezze and worked wonders as a starter.
The Australian Shiraz wine was fantastic and quite reasonably priced at appx 2500 by the bottle. While everyone ordered their own mains and each of the main course dish looked like treat to the eyes , the best part was the home made freshly baked bread. It was an absolute bliss. The rest of the drinks were still a bit below expectations including the glasses of the beer and other cutlery . I would recommend them to have more fine cutlery and crockery , given the class they claim to be of.
Finally this Olive saved its image by serving a much better Tiramisu than what I ate last week at their new outlet at cyber hub , Gurgaon.
Overall a satisfactory experience but they surely can improve in their service , keeping mosquitoes away from the indoor AC tables, providing a little finer crockery and cutlery, proactively explaining the dishes and helping customers by recommending the best dishes based on experience and expectations . Ideal would be to get the chef to come out and meet the customers directly and elevate the experience by sharing his specialities .
