“Finally a good Restaurant living upto it's repute”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

Yes at last one good restaurant that lived upto it's classy reputation. Had visited the Olive Bar n Kitchen at the Qutab for a business dinner with some clients from the US. While the ambience and the overall feel Neither excited me nor impressed me as much as I had heard about it , the overall experience and service was definitely of high standards. The starters (Mezze platter) was a treat to eyes and was quite remarkable in quality and presentation (while compromising on the size of portion ). Ideally given the size of the table the server should have proactively told us that one platter wouldn't be enough . The chicken tikka skewers on the sides were a perfect combo to the Mezze and worked wonders as a starter.

The Australian Shiraz wine was fantastic and quite reasonably priced at appx 2500 by the bottle. While everyone ordered their own mains and each of the main course dish looked like treat to the eyes , the best part was the home made freshly baked bread. It was an absolute bliss. The rest of the drinks were still a bit below expectations including the glasses of the beer and other cutlery . I would recommend them to have more fine cutlery and crockery , given the class they claim to be of.

Finally this Olive saved its image by serving a much better Tiramisu than what I ate last week at their new outlet at cyber hub , Gurgaon.

Overall a satisfactory experience but they surely can improve in their service , keeping mosquitoes away from the indoor AC tables, providing a little finer crockery and cutlery, proactively explaining the dishes and helping customers by recommending the best dishes based on experience and expectations . Ideal would be to get the chef to come out and meet the customers directly and elevate the experience by sharing his specialities .

“GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Have been a regular here and have written great reviews about the pace. But as they say ; remaining consistently good is a challenge. Was entertaining friends. Boys evening out.It turned out to be a huge disappointment. The wine that was our first choice on the wine list was unavailable. The main course portions ; chicken and duck were so small we thought they were starters with compliments. My friends from Mumbai are still cursing me on the Yahoo Group for recommending the place. If Olive does not get its act together soon ; it will be history.

“Elegant yet simple - the location transports you to a Mediterranean land”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

I love the menu choices and the drinks but most of all I enjoy the ambience. This is what I expect when I go out to a restaurant. Hassle free service and food of a very high standard so that I can focus on the people I am dining with and leave refreshed and relaxed. Olive always provides this.

“Disappointment”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

The venue is really nice - outside tables under trees, lots of low level light and candles......very pleasant spot for dinner. We were a bit disappointed in the food, though. For appetizers we tried the tortellini in broth..........3 tortellini was the portion..........flavors were decent but nothing special. The fried brie with pine nuts, etc. was completely lacking flavor and again, 3 o 4 very small bites of cheese. The rocket salad was delicious and well dressed. 3 of us had the pork belly with apples and it was good - not great - but good and perhaps slightly overcooked. The 4th in our party had the duck breast and she was not impressed. For dessert we tried the cheesecake - okay but not great, and a tiramisu, which was good. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and prices, for India, are reasonable. Service was efficient and friendly. It should be noted that 3 of the 4 of us had some stomach issues the next morning.
The place has great potential, but I don't think the cooking has reached a level to which it is probably capable.

“Great mediterranean stuff !”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

We were looking for a 'super' location of different food in Delhi and hit Olive in the process, The place was sure delightful, but wasn't eventually considered by us as we were looking for a very formal dining experience. The trial fare served to us was surely palate-tickling, especially as our team hadn't had this served of stuff ever earlier. Very different & elegant ambiance. Great food. A very charming place for informal dining.
