The temple can be reached via Shoghi town through a cut on NH-22 going to Anandpur village. Its situated at a very high altitude so that one can have beautiful view of valley and trees. The temple has a restriction to keep away leather items while entering main temple area so one has to be careful about wallet etc if going during rush time. Temple has a big surrounding area which gives a chance to view in all directions from top of hill. 'Halwa' is provided as 'prasad'. There is 'langar' on every Sunday in the temple, which leads to heavy rush on Sundays.

This temple is a must visit for people of all religeons. The view from the peak is breath taking and the temple complex is very well maintained. The peace and positivity of the place mesmerized me and I wanted to sit there forever.
A steep trail for Shiv Temple goes down from the Tara Devi temple. We have to walk through the forest on a concrete path. Highly recommended if you love nature and can walk the steep incline/decline.

Tara Devi Temple at 1851m height above sea level is situated at a distance of around 15 kilometers from Shimla. If you are travelling on the Kalka - Shimla highway, NH22, towards Shimla, turn upward right from Shoghi. The Temple is around 6km from NH22. The Tara Devi Temple is situated at the top of a hill in Simla and the lush green environs surrounding it give the temple a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. One must visit this temple to check out the breath taking views of the countryside. The backdrop of the lofty Himalayas and the clean and fresh air works wonders and makes your vacation worthwhile. You can eat the Prasada (Blessed Food) on Tuesdays.

We boarded the toy train from Simla to Tara Devi station. The ride was spectacular with a picturesque view of the hills.

Shimla can get too crowded and to the relief we have Tara Devi temple, its steep climb for the car, one can hike too. Atop you have shops for prasad and 2 temples. Tara devi temple also has bhandaras, where one can sit and take prasad. The temple is a small one, though has its importance in bhakti.

There is a restaurant at the top as well. The view is great and the wind is serene.
