Ranganathaswamy temple is a must in Srirangapatna. Other places like Sangam and Palace are good too. Srirangapatna and near by area is famous for its wood work. Do plan to visit some local toy stores or emporium

Ranganathaswamy temple, Tipu's summer palace and tomb (with those of his parents) and other minor sites worth a short visit.

Many of the sacred rituals are performed at the Kaveri river banks. However, there are a lot of monkeys here. They usually come looking for food. Beware of mobiles, cash, and other belongings.

But what attracts the most is the quietly flowing Kaveri river and there is a place where you can change your clothes though it could have been kept a little bit clean. Other surroundings are also clean but the river needs to be cleaned up because the tourists leave the place dirty. Lot of clothes can be found floating in the river. The place also has lot of pigs which come looking for food. If kept clean, I am sure many more tourists will come here just to have a dip in the river.
