If you go to Mysore, do not miss the fruit, veg and flower market, as we nearly did. It is a feast for the eyes. Ladies sewing flower garlands, I could have watched them all day. They also sell the powder that is made into paint for the 'bindi' marks. I have never seen such an array of different coloured cone shaped powders. As well as an array of merchandise, they sell bangles by the dozens, wrapped in clear cellophane, and very cheap. Of course they are not great quality, but look amazing on the racks they are displayed on. Definately a photographers haven.

We loved it. Went early to see the wholesale market and really enjoyed it. We were not bothered much except by sellers of paints and dyes. Half an hour to an hour is enough.

Great colours, produce, photo opportunities. Makes Waitrose look very mundane! No pressure selling. Just look and feast your eyes.

I love this market, you get the occasional bothering by few guys, but otherwise pleasant, vivid colours and smells, amazing flowers. A nice couple of hours and wonder around.

This market has no meat or fish products which makes it good smelling with scents of fruit, incense and essential oils. You may feel a bit hassled by those selling, especially those without stalls who will follow you around, but the experience is worth the pests.
