Hustle and bustle of city will be missed in chitravana resorts and so you will love it. We were 5 adults and 2 kids. We stayed from 27th Dec 2013 to 29th Dec 2013. Decent priced when compared to other resorts in mysore but really good experience. I was so much worried because I was not able to get any bookings in other resorts in mysore or Coorg due to last minute planning. But I am happy that the chitravana resorts didn't disappoint me because It is not commercialized much unlike others where they don't force things on you or charge exorbitantly on last minute bookings. The manager Mr.Dharmaraju requires a kudos from us for nice experience right from booking till check out. I opted for A/C room considering there is no A/C in cottages. I should have opted for cottage considering that the weather was cold and there won't be any need for AC in Dec. Cottage was built with rocks and would have kept required warmth in this winter. In fact, whether in mysore for the past few days was much pleasant than bangalore I suppose because it was always 2 degrees lesser than bangalore.
The restaurant serves chinese and indian delicacies. The food is good and decently priced. We didn't prefer to have breakfast in resort because there was only south indian breakfast buffet and restaurant folks were not entertaining alacarte. No complaints on that but if you inform manager he can get that arranged. In fact, some additional requests were handled personally by manager at 10.30pm during my stay.Restaurant also serves liquor and decently priced. It would be good if they can stock all published.
The pool and other facilities like sports (badminton, basketball) etc.,can keep you busy and relaxing. Pool was with dry leaves all over on the day we arrived and request to clean it was taken in less than an hour by manager. On the second day of our stay, the resort management has arranged for an orchestra and camp fire in open air theatre. They also had made arrangements to serve food in open air theatre by arranging tables for guests. Orchestra was average but no complaints there. It was a different experience having food in open air theatre with camp fire.
Try dining inside transparent seating places behind restaurant seatings which is tucked between short plants and trees. It was nice experience.
Overall, nice and peaceful stay in the resort. No complaints at all and I hope the management can keep up the good work.
