“Nice resort tucked away from mysore city and amicable experience”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

Hustle and bustle of city will be missed in chitravana resorts and so you will love it. We were 5 adults and 2 kids. We stayed from 27th Dec 2013 to 29th Dec 2013. Decent priced when compared to other resorts in mysore but really good experience. I was so much worried because I was not able to get any bookings in other resorts in mysore or Coorg due to last minute planning. But I am happy that the chitravana resorts didn't disappoint me because It is not commercialized much unlike others where they don't force things on you or charge exorbitantly on last minute bookings. The manager Mr.Dharmaraju requires a kudos from us for nice experience right from booking till check out. I opted for A/C room considering there is no A/C in cottages. I should have opted for cottage considering that the weather was cold and there won't be any need for AC in Dec. Cottage was built with rocks and would have kept required warmth in this winter. In fact, whether in mysore for the past few days was much pleasant than bangalore I suppose because it was always 2 degrees lesser than bangalore.

The restaurant serves chinese and indian delicacies. The food is good and decently priced. We didn't prefer to have breakfast in resort because there was only south indian breakfast buffet and restaurant folks were not entertaining alacarte. No complaints on that but if you inform manager he can get that arranged. In fact, some additional requests were handled personally by manager at 10.30pm during my stay.Restaurant also serves liquor and decently priced. It would be good if they can stock all published.

The pool and other facilities like sports (badminton, basketball) etc.,can keep you busy and relaxing. Pool was with dry leaves all over on the day we arrived and request to clean it was taken in less than an hour by manager. On the second day of our stay, the resort management has arranged for an orchestra and camp fire in open air theatre. They also had made arrangements to serve food in open air theatre by arranging tables for guests. Orchestra was average but no complaints there. It was a different experience having food in open air theatre with camp fire.

Try dining inside transparent seating places behind restaurant seatings which is tucked between short plants and trees. It was nice experience.

Overall, nice and peaceful stay in the resort. No complaints at all and I hope the management can keep up the good work.

Room Tip: Try cottages if you don't need AC. Of course not in summer may be.

We planned a one day trip for our family members (14 couples). We had a very good experience from the very beginning. From booking, making online wire transfer for payments, minor custom arrangements at the resort like welcome board, bon fire, special plantain leaf lunch, etc., coffee & tea near the rooms, among host of other requests were handled in a positive manner making us feel at ease. The management team was very accommodating.
The food was good. We were served with hot food patiently attending to all our requests. We had separate area allocated for us. Food for the 6 children was provided considering their schedule. Milk, coffee and tea (including snacks in the evening) was provided near our rooms.
Swimming pool, play area for kids and adults, was a treat. Kids enjoyed the stay.
Overall, an amazing trip.

I was here last week on a short trip to Mysore. The best thing about the place is the nature's enclosure around you, the one thing you may never find now a days, in a city like Bangalore. The cottage was spacious, neatly maintained, complete privacy coupled with good service, this place deserves to stand out in the lot. The management and the workers are well mannered, offer good service and always carry a smile around. The food was great, though we didn't liked the tea, but overall this place is a great to stay especially for friends and couples.

Room Tip: Cottages are the best

Hi, Chitravana Resorts Mysore is good place for Nature Lovers, where you can see full of greenery. Rooms are clean and maintained good, just they need to add some mats in/out of bathroom.

There are some mosquitoes due to the nature, but management needs to arrange something for that.

Food was good except breakfast, would like to suggest to create some water games in the nature.

Room Tip: Delux room good go for it.

I was here last weekend with my friends and I really enjoyed my time here. Chitravana is a 10 acre planned forest filled with artistic topographies. The cottage we booked was spacious and had a private backyard that provided excellent ambiance. The cottage is well maintained, clean and accords complete privacy. The restaurant serves good food: we particularly liked 'malai kofta' that was 'out of the world'. We weren't so lucky with the breakfast though. Swimming pool is spacious and clean.
You are in for a delightful experience if you can overlook a 'not so well trained' staff.

Room Tip: Prefer non A/C cottages over A/C rooms.

Been here twice in last 12 months. It is one of the best option for a short weekend getaway. Rooms are kept clean. Swimming pool is maintained well. Had very nice time in the evening orchestra.Only disappointment was the breakfast.
