If you visit Mysore then mylari hotel should be compulsorily on your do list. The masala dosa is the best I have had anywhere in the world. Expect a small shop and a below par ambience. You visit here for the taste.

This is a very small hotel in Mysore, which attracts people for its wonderful dosas since many decades. Though the owner Late Mylari is not alive now, his sons are still using the same name and run two hotels in his name. I found this particular hotel a better one. You can easily eat 3-4 dosas, which has a unique taste.

backed by a strong recommendation from a Kannadiga friend, I started asking for directions to this palce from the Mysore Palace. EVERYBODY seemed to know about this one. Reached the Nazarbad circle after many twists and turns. I was shocked to find that MYLARI was the smallest eatery I've set eyes on in recent times. I had to call my friend to double-check, but was reassured.

I was specifically advised to asked for Saagu Dosa, but to my chagrin, they were sold out by 7:30pm. The Vinaya Mylari was closed (on Wednesdays) and so it was Hobson's choice. And then ...... I was served the tastiest dosas I've had. Served with a liberal dollop of butter and coconut chutney, the dosas just melt in your mouth. Especially like the after-taste (of butter!). Each dosa is priced at 22/- and so a good choice for a budget meal too
