The Brindavan Garden is a bit far from the city about 22kms, but its worth visiting. Located next to the Dam, Garden is full of not only beautiful Flowers but also awesome water fountains. Don't miss the evening light show.

this place totally disappointed me! my heart sank at the view of this beautiful vast garden with trash almost everywhere and it felt just like any other ordinary poorly maintained municipal garden to me.plus there's a huge crowd which is sometimes scary especially if u r taking kids along.the much hyped musical fountain was another waste of time.the viewers gallery is clearly insufficient for the big crowd that comes here and if it rains there's no where to go,which is exactly what happened to us.as soon as the show started it rained and they curtailed it.all in all my advise is make it the last spot on your list or best skip it !!!

The dam is definitely worth seeing if you are allowed up there and the it is opened. However the grounds of the garden are poorly maintained with trash strewn all over the place and untreated fountain water that reeks. The children's park is a complete bust with rusted slides and broken swings. This is not a place where you can spend an afternoon picnicking on the grass with the family. It's a total tourist trap and something you can skip if you are on a tight schedule while visiting Mysore.

This is a must see on the list for tourists in Mysore. The gardens are well kept with water features and fountains. There was a lot of bougainvillea and salvia abounding when we were there. Perhaps because they were not in season, the roses were a disappointment.

The gardens cover a fair area and there are steps in some places. You need to be reasonably fit to get about. The place is not wheel-chair friendly. And the crowds are massive. It is very easy to get separated if you are going in a group. It will be best to pre-arrange a meeting place if one gets lost. Or better still, if possible, do exchange mobile telephone numbers.

Likewise, the musical fountains which get switched on after dark is vaunted as a great attraction. Again, huge crowds and everyone vying to secure a vantage point to view the fountains illuminated by moving coloured lights in time with the music.

Beware of touts trying to sell you picture post cards and the like.
