“Visit only if you have nothing else to do !”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

If you have exhausted the list of things to do in Mysore and have abundant time to kill, then you might consider visiting this place. For fans of Horror -there is a Horror museum beside though I am not one of them.

But apart from that I would not recommend visiting this place .

It is first of all it is a Music museum as most of the wax statues are playing instruments across times and across cultures like India, Africa etc. There is no rationale for the arrangement and it is very random. There are also gramophones, transistors etc kept randomly.

Secondly the place smells of mildew and mold and I would advise people with dust allergy, asthma etc to please avoid going in.

The keepers of the museum have made some effort but it falls way short of expectations.

“Hilariously bad!”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

This place is terrible, (relatively) expensive and dull. The place is filled with wax statues playing various instruments. Confusingly, the last room was of a weird skeleton with a hookah pipe, and a poster saying "don't do drugs".
I honestly wouldn't bother with this place.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

This was not as good as Ooty Museum.

More of music instruments and less of statues. More importantly, there were not much specific statues of famous personalities. Majority was generic, public, plain vanilla structures..

Not impressed by all those musical instruments.

There is a candle shop where you can buy some different candles
