that we had with Vinay from Royal Mysore Walks.
We started at Wellington Lodge with some history stories (which brought together the Duke of Wellington, Tipu Sultan and Napoleon) and then headed to the famous Devaraja market. On the way we stopped at a streetside temple, to assist a puja ritual.
Devaraja is surely one of the loveliest markets one can find in India. A huge vibrant mix of colours and smells plus friendly atmosphere! Our guide Vinay was of great help, explaining vegs and fruits and local customs to us. Other locals also joined in, when they saw we needed some instructions on how to use a clay oil lamp, for example... :) This market is certainly a dream spot for photoholics, of course, anywhere you turn there is a picture waiting to be taken.
We ended our tour with some Mysore sweets and a glass of delicious badam milk from a shop Vinay pointed out to us.
I would definitely recommend a walk with a local guide while in Mysore. You will get to know much more in a short while, compared to walking by yourself. Great work, RMW guys :)
