We stayed here for 3 nights as a family in April 2014. The hotel is in a good location, close to the railway station and city centre yet away from the hustle and bustle. Its neat and clean. The beds are comfortable. The food at the restaurant is good, even though the breakfast buffet is a bit repetitive and they put too much sugar in the fruit juices.
But the biggest problem is the infra, especially the cooling and heating systems. The central AC is very poor, just does not cool the room. It gets stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep at night. I checked the air flow, it seems like someone is standing behind and blowing slightly cool air into the room.. No way such an airconditioning system can cool the room. We were in room 3007, complained about the AC. They sent someone to fix it. But no improvement. Called them again. They said that the filter was blocked, and cleaned it. Still no improvement. Called them yet again. They changed our room to 3029. Still no improvement. Finally they gave us a portable fan in the room which helped a bit but thats not the way an airconditioned room in a 4 star hotel should work. Another problem is the bathroom does not have a door -- only the WC and shower has. So the AC has more space to cool and it does not manage a good job.
The water in the shower is lukewarm and cannot be made hotter by adjusting the taps. Water pressure is poor too from the overhead shower and there is no hand shower. There is no light above the shower, only above the WC, so if you draw the curtains in the shower area it gets a bit dark. There is no proper rack to store towels in the shower area-only a rod. If you hang your towel there its going to get wet.
THe shower area is about half inch lower than the WC area , which is another half inch lower than the main room. Lots of chances to stub your toes when moving from one area to the next
Above the area to store your luggage, there is a shelf at head level with sharp corners. Sure fire way to bang your head when you are packing/unpacking your bag
I wonder what the architects and designers were thinking when they designed such a room
Rooftop swimming pool is nice, but no chairs, no loungers, no towels. No shower/changing room at the pool level. You have to go one level down to the spa area. It is dark there and no staff there either. Really Wonder what they were thinking when they designed all this
For car hire they charge Rs. 1900 for 8 hours/80km. Expensive considering that in Bangalore you can get the same for Rs. 1300
On the whole, not a happy experience. Not recommended
