Mysore palace is breathtaking every time you see it. Makes you want to see the place in all its glory. Do take the audio tour if you are more interested in knowing the details of various artifacts as they dont have placards around.

A worthwhile outing, which provides a good background to the era of maharajas and an understanding of the life of Indian royalty.

Tourist price for entry is currently 200 rupees, which includes an audioguide (very informative). On Sundays and public holidays, all the palace lights are switched on - try and see it on one of these nights if you can, it is rather spectacular! (Entry is also free in the evenings on public holidays.)

The palace is dripping with opulence and the furniture, art & architecture are definitely something to behold. A must-do when in Mysore.

This is a huge palace. The grounds are extensive and monumental. The inside of the palace is also on a grand scale. I was particularly taken by the huge viewing gallery open on one side onto the parade ground. It was like a one sided football stadium but in a palace. I have never seen anything like this before.
