“A beautiful & grand Palace..”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

First thing, dont forget to take a guide to visit this magnificent & beautiful Palace.

Outside the palace, we were inquiring about the charges of a guide, when one of the guides said "Do you have 1 hr time? If yes, then only I will accompany you as this palace requires that much time", we were stunned but then we hired him and that was the best decision of the day!

About the palace, it is huge, beautiful with the best examples of architectural design, paintings & well preserved Diwan-e-aam & Diwan-e-Khaas.

Unfortunately it is not allowed to click picture inside the palace. Paintings of Ravi Verma & other hand made 3D paintings will surely blow your mind. The Diwan-e-aam area is superbly magnificent. Palace really gives you a glimpse of the monumental lifestyle of Kings.

Must visit.

Funny part was that our Guide was constantly asking questions related to whatever he was telling us about the palace which really kept us on our toes :)

“Mysore palace”

There is a small entrance fee. This is a stunning building, and you can wander around the outside and gardens. If you want to see inside the palace, you have to check-in your camera at the entrance gate, and your shoes at a different location close to the palace, as neither are allowed inside. You can rent an audio tour, or just wander around the cool rooms, as it was very hot when we visited. There are tourist shops at the end selling sandalwood soap etc, and there are a couple of elephants in the grounds taking rides. Definately a 'must-see' if you visit Mysore.

Its Very old structure Built by the Great Maharaja of Mysore. The beautiful hand craft on walls of the Palace and even on the ceilings. There are even beautiful hand made paintings of Maharaja family, which nobody easily make it out that its an hand painting. One must surely visit this palace to understand what kind of talent India had even that time. The place from where king used to conduct sabhas for Public is very Beautifully built & the outside view of this palace is worth watching in Evening when the Whole place Glitters with the Light.

Must see place for all . do remember to shop inside the palace for sandal stuff.. The prices inside are much much cheaper compared to what is sold in the city shops..
