Chamundi Hill is a great place to drive to and visit. The drive has many scenic views. Try to go while Mysore Palace has lights at night. Visit Nandi the Bull on the way up/down. Beautiful sculpture that is also has lights at night. At the top of Chamundi there are many tea vendors, food vendors and merchandise vendors. Parking can be a bit hectic during a holiday when many people visit. The main temple is beautiful and there can be long lines. There is a much smaller temple that I actually prefer that I always go to that is also at the top of the hill. You can also climb to the top via steps if you prefer. I love taking the drive from Mysore to Chamundi. It gets you out of the city and into a nice perspective of Mysore from above.
