This is one of the best locations at Mysore; the abode of Goddess Chamundeshwari. Avoid going here on a rainy day or during the afternoon. The temple is closed during the afternoon from 1pm to 4pm. Early morning is the best time to visit. Beware of the monkeys roaming around the place.
While going here, do wait fro sometime to view the Mysore city from the hilltop. Its an excellent view up from here. The idol of Mahisasur, the daemon, is a favorite photo shoot place here. While coming down from the temple, do visit the Nandi (the bull) temple. It is one of the large Nandi status found around Karnataka.
Many hotels/eateries have come up near he temple these days. They add a lot to the pollution to this place; but yet makes it convenient to buy food when hungry.
