The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to palace, shopping, attractions, etc. Upon arrival we got an amenities kit each, which was quite impressive. The room was basic, but had ac and all the necessary stuff. Staff was attentive. Restaurant is also good, but it might become noisy in the rooms if too busy.

We stayed here for three nights in December and it really is a unique place. It’s in a great location right in the centre of Mysore and really near to the Palace. On arrival, the staff on reception were efficient but not at all friendly. They did give us the men’s and ladies welcome pack which contained toiletries, a pen, pad, keyring etc which was a nice touch and was quite sweet! We had a “luxury” room which faced the road and a park with a small balcony but it was still pretty quiet. The room was a decent size and very clean, although a bit on the basic side. We loved the amusing signs which were all over the hotel and in the room too, particularly the one over the balcony door "Beware of monkeys always keep doors closed” and also the one above the bed “No tips please”.

There was a viewing point from the roof and it was brilliant – we never saw anyone else use it and it did have lots of hotel washing drying out there but the view was fantastic - the whole of Mysore, the palace and Chamundi Hills. It was especially lovely at sunset when we saw hundreds of brightly coloured parrots and also eagles flying around – it was amazing!

We found the pool to be a big disappointment as it was really tiny, more of a paddling pool!! It was on the top floor and part of a beer garden which clearly wasn’t in use and just looked run down with lots of table and chairs, so we never used it at all. Although the pool was in the sun, the rest of the area was under cover so you couldn’t lay out and sunbathe up there either which was a bit of a shame.

We had lovely breakfasts in the restaurant and it was good to eat there in the evening too. We also used the laundry service which was really cheap and the clothes came back lovely and the room service was also very good. It was a great little hotel to stay in and what it lacked in friendliness, it made up for in efficiency and we just loved the quirkiness of it!

Hotel Location:
The major advantage of this hotel is the location, which is hardly 200 Mtrs from the Mysore palace (One of the Gate) and walk able distance from the famous Devraj Urs Road which is famous in Mysore for shopping branded stuff.

Hotel Parking:
The hotel does not have a sheltered parking, but there is a descent open space available for a few cars in front of their hotel.

Hotel Rooms:
I have been staying in this Hotel since the last 4 years every time i visit Mysore.
I had always traveled with family, so I was getting good and neatly maintained rooms, this time I had traveled with my friend, and was allotted an room on the 4th floor, which were very compact and not up to the mark of the other rooms I had stayed in my earlier visits. In all the facilities of the room were good, but I could see that the linen were faded and moreover the bathroom was a little disappointing one with leaking taps and non working shower, Except this, the experience was good like my earlier ones.

Hotel Restaurant:
I have never tried this hotel restaurant for breakfast as you find great old restaurants in the city of Mysore. But for lunch and dinner they provide very good north Indian food. I have no comments on their Non Veg category as I don’t consume them, but for veggies, it is a good place to have food.

Hotel Staff:
Quite friendly guys, but Mysore happens to be a firangi location especially in the month of Dec and Jan, so the service towards these foreigner crowds would be at their maximum as they would be tipping in a big way, and i personally experienced it in the Restaurant as well.

Overall:
For a budget traveler, this is one of the finest places to stay considering the location and the value for money.
I would personally recommend this Hotel property.

Room Tip:
Only luxury room comes with a balcony, else the choices are very much limited.

We went to this hotel because the good location near the palace and the market. In Lonely Planet they say the the price is 1200 rupees, but when we arrived to the hotel we've been told that the price of the less expensive room is 1850 rupees plus tax which is more that 2000 rupees. Anyway we chose to stay for two nights and the experience was wonderful. The location is great, the restaurant is great with food and nice beers, there is a small swimming pool on the fifth floor and everything is very convenient. There are a lot of tourists in this hotel and it gives nice atmosphere. I recommend!

Great location, not far from KR Markets or the Palace, with a view over the park. Staff are friendly and though not super efficient, the rest of the hotel is - no need for Indian switch lotto here, everything is clearly marked and rooms are full of excellent little conveniences, such as mobile chargers (which can be brought to your dining table) and bathroom switches glowing in the dark. There's even a curtain between the main room and the spare bed! The lobby and beer garden/restaurant are like theme parks, lots of fun to sit in and enjoy the backpacker burble. Unfortunately, the pool wasn't very clean and the authentic Indian classical music, while a good idea, was also quite noisy, reverberating around the atrium until quite late. The complimentary toiletry bags - one for ladies and another for gents - have to be seen to be believed: they beat anything I've ever seen in a 5 star hotel and are packed with everything you could possibly want (fairness cream, ladies?). A quirky, eccentric and quite comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for park view rooms away from the stairs and lifts, and on the 3rd floor, away from the rooftop...

This is a great base for seeing Mysore Palace which is around 7 minutes walk away.

The hotel has been around since the 80s and has been renovated once. The design seems to be the same though, with the restaurant on the 1st floor and all the rooms on the floors above. The slight problem is the hotel is circular and the noise from the restaurant echos upwards. I want to stress that it is a little annoying but not a reason to avoid this place unless you are an extremely light sleeper.

They have gone endearingly over the top with signs too, they are everywhere.

The hotel is centrally located and is a basic budget hotel with clean rooms and bathrooms. The restaurant next to the hotel is famous for its biryani and kebabs. The food in the restaurant is good, they have garden like restaurant with smoking/non smoking zone. The restaurant gets crowded in the evening so its better to take a room away from the restaurant or on other floors. There are many hotels in the vicinity but this one is the cheapes. We got a doube room for Rs. 1700/- without breakfast.

Room Tip: take room away from the restaurant and kitchen as it gets noisy in the evening.
