“A little gem tucked away...”
Reviewed 13 November 2012

I have stayed at Ginger Mysore on 2 occasions. What strikes me is that it's a complete no nonsense place for a business man who is more interested in closing deals instead of spending time in Jacuzzi and expensive bars...rooms are fresh and linen smells fresh. Bathrooms are nice albeit small (though no complaints since u get what u pay)...Food and Beverage service and quality is a bit patchy but I guess it's the outsourcing that causes it. However i am personally not very choosy ..

The rooms are very small but well maintained and nicely designed. The food court serves bouffet dinner which is cool. Fornt desk is agile and helpful. Hotel is clean and tidy. CCD is open all night hence it is very good that everyone can have a bite at any point of time.
Security is very tight, so stay is very safe.
Tevel desk is ok. We haven't used spa hence don't have any idea.
More or less we njoyed our stay here and will recomend the hotel.

Room Tip: Think rooms all are good enough though little bit small in size.

Stayed here for a day in the month of September 12 its a nice and clean hotel, One would call it a budget hotel at 2000 per night, its location is also add to its advantage its close to city center and all the important places, It had everything one need for a comfortable stay, AC, Tv with tata sky, mini Fridge, 24hr CCD inside hotel, Ample Car Parking, Its Clean and Service was Good, but Rooms are Extremely Small, Unless u not living is room its acceptable, Breakfast was Good, they had gud options,Probably will stay again,

I stayed here just for a night. As always GINGER is budget, simple place to stay. In mysore the location is very close by for all visits. Can be a walkable route to palace, zoo, museum and en route to chamundi.

Have got a CCD, but the restaurant can be better. We opted eating out @ siddharth - owsome food for veggies.

Room Tip: Good place if you are looking for a budget, small, clean, safe, easy room.

Stayed for a day in the Ginger hotel in Mysore, in the month of September (2012). The best thing about the hotel was its location. Its very near to the main attractions of the city (palace, zoo etc), while the area is not crowded and is quite easy to reach the hotel. The buffet lunch/dinner was good, though I found it a bit over-priced for what it offered. There is a Cafe Coffe Day outlet also, which is open till late also. As expected, its not a fancy hotel and you get a good comfortable AC room with a small TV and a work desk. The room and the bathroom were maintained properly and clean. The staff is good and helpful. Parking is limited, but we did not face any issues in getting the space.
Would definitely recommend the hotel if you are taking a pit stop in Mysore on your way to other destinations, or on a short trip to Mysore. On a longer trip, if you have more expectations from your hotel, this might not suit the requirements.

I stayed here last weekend while participating in the Kaveri Half Marathon.

When i go for a budget hotel i look for something that is like my house, nothing fancy. Most budget hotels that i have seen fall into the trap of trying to emulate the star hotels by providing lets say bath tubs, phone in the bathroom (who needs this really). Most people who stay at budget hotels are not in for a long duration and are seeking nothing more than just regular comfort.

Ginger hotel seems to have cracked it. Walking into Ginger is like walking into your home. There are no bell boys to carry your bags. You walk into the room and you will find a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, study table and a small refrigerator. What more does one need. True some people may say that there is no enough space in the room to walk around but then how many of us have so much room space in our house any ways. Most bedrooms in Bangalore are just "Bed" rooms and nothing else will fit right?

Bathroom is perfect and clean with no fancy stuff. A shower, washbasin and a commode.

The best part is that they have a Tata Sky satellite connection. Most star hotels (even some properties of Taj) go wrong here where they provide the best LCD TV but relay a bad cable service that is mostly unwatchable.

Most reviews i read here complained about the food. When we go for budget hotels we cannot expect the best in class chef to be in their kitchens. So lets not expect them to be making the best biryanis or kebabs. Stick to basics. We ordered for dal, roti and lemon rice. All came in in just 15 mins, hot and sealed in nice aluminium foil so that nothing falls into it en route from the kitchen to the room (again something that most hotels would not think of).

They also have buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner but we didn't try that. the coffee day outlet is good. what more would you want then a nice room and a good coffee in the morning.

The location of the hotel is awesome, its away from the traffic but not very far from the palace. just about 2 KMS i suppose.

On the improvement side - i believe they could do well on the pricing. The regular price is around 4K. I got a weekend discounted offer for just 2K. For 2K it is fine but 4K may be a tad too much.

We stayed for just 1 night, while coming back from our trip of Coorg.
This was my first stay at any Ginger Hotel. My first impression of this hotel is really good. The people at the reception were well mannered & professional
The rooms were a bit small but we were surprised to see all the modern amenities present in the room. The room & the bathroom were really clean. Hats off to the house keeping staffs & the Ginger Hotel Management for maintaining the cleanliness standards.
There is a SBI ATM present at the entarnce of the hotel & a CCD outlet at the lobby of the hotel
My overall experince was good & satisfying, I would recommend this hotel to the travellers staying for a short trip (1-2 days)
