This is pretty good value in the Rs1000 range.

There was no AC, but we didn't really need it in August, and the staff sometimes blanked you when you walked out, but that's not such a big deal.

However, the room was well-decorated in a moder style, bed was comfy, the road is pretty quiet at night, and it's a relatively easy to walk to the fascinating palace.

Overnight stay at Maurya Residency. Had booked 2 non AC rooms through Inasra.com. No hassles.

The hotel is located strategically in central Mysore nearby the palace. This gives a lot of transport options for tourists to get in/around Mysore.

The rooms have a tired look and feel but are clean and spacious. Don't expect any view from the rooms except for the ones facing the main road. The sheets and towels were old and wornout. Hot water was available from 6 to 11am. The staff were cordial and receptive.

The hotel's restaurant "Veg Kourt" was below average and untidy. Their other hotel next door (Maurya Palace) has the "Jewel Rock" multi cuisine restaurant which is awesome. Superb food and service.

Overall, this place is functional and everything works. Good for a stay of 1/2 days. Anything more - Pay up a bit more and check yourself into better hotels available in the same area.

I & my wife were coming back from ooty and stayed in this hotel for 1 night & a day enroute to bangalore. I made the reservations online. I was offered a good rate and discount as well.

The best thing about this place is its location, it is right in front of the palace. You can see illuminated palace in the evening. It is walkable distance from the market.

We didn't expected such room size & services from the staff. The cleanliness was good. Room had a window but they had two single beds seperately placed in a double bed room. Otherwise the place had no flaws and lived beyond our expectations.

It was a good value for money.

We stayed at Maurya residency for 1 night. The rooms were nice but for plumbing. Infrastructure in toilets was lacking.

Service was average with water not available in the room for considerable amount of time. We could get water only after repeated requests.

Otherwise rooms were good. Overall OK experience for the rent we paid for one night.

We initially reserved a couple of nights here, at the begining of March ,because the review it got in the Lonely Planet was good.
When we arrived the frontage and foyer looked fine and tired after a long journey we dropped our guard and checked in without looking at the rooms first.
We were taken up to our room but before we could enter we were asked to wait outside while they sprayed it.We thought this was a bit strange. When we eventually got in the room it wasn't great, there had obviously been some work done as there were bits of unpainted plaster here and there, the carpet and bedspread looked dirty and had definitely seen better days, there was an air of shabbiness to the room.Being dissapointed with the look and cleanliness of the room we lifted one of the pillows, there on the sheet were rat droppings, the bottom of the pillow and the sheet had been nibbled and shredded,in all our travels ,and we have stayed in some pretty basic places,we have never been asked to share our room and bed with rats.
The managements excuse was that the room hadn't been cleaned properly and would we like another room, the next floor had building work going on in every other room, mattresses were left in the corridors, dust and the smell of paint and glue lingered through the whole place. Our friends room was no better, his bath was dirty, there was dust on the furniture and it had the same half decorated look.
We asked for our deposit back and left as quickly as we could.

This hotel is located in a very convenient location opposite to the Mysore palace. There is another hotel named Maurya palace located next to this hotel and priced similar. Room was clean, spacious and there was a seating area with two sofas and a coffee table. However, bathroom fittings were not in good condition and there was water leakage from faucet. Room service was quick. Attached restaurant serves decent food which is reasonably priced. There is a big park opposite to the hotel and I was lucky to get a park facing room with nice view. Room had a very small balcony too. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
