Highly expected orders left disappointed with the taste, not even good as the street vendors .Surprisingly the kebabs came with no sauce or dips.Much reputed name in the city but surprisingly the foods were disappointing .

One of the cleaner and better places near Mohd.Ali road where you can go for a good Nawabi fare. Situated inside an old building which has small and big interconnected rooms just like Old houses. The Raan Tandoori is the full leg of mutton slow cooked and also served with Masala. This dish is what makes me want to go back to Shalimar quite often. have it with Roti or Rice and polish it off with a bottle of Thums Up and firni at the end. The rest of the food is OK. Also be prepared for long hours of "NoMobile Network" Inside.

We came here to have a midnight snack on Ramzan Eid.
It was crowded, but we managed to get a place in the cramped restaurant's AC Section.
We ordered:
Paneer Bean Dry, which was very delicious. The Paneer could have been softer, but the sauces were amazing!
The Sholay Chicken Tikka was fabulously soft and the masalas were amazing. One of the better Chicken starters that I've had.
The Malpua Dessert was the best I've ever eaten. It was more like a stuffed Malpua with Rabri and dry fruits stuffing. It was super soft and smelled of egg as well.
The Phirni was also good.

Overall, it was a great experience dining here owing to the amazing food.
It cost about Rs. 800 for these 4 items, so it was on the expensive side, considering the restaurant location and decor.
Definitely on my list of Must-Go restaurants for connoisseurs.

If you are fond of street food, Shalimar is the place to visit.
As a old restaurant, the owners have tried their hand at upgrading the facilities, adding air-conditioned and 'family' sections, and even adding 'indianised' international cuisines to their menu. But go to Shalimar for what they serve best - Mughlai and Irani fare. The Shami Kebabs are of 'melt-in-mouth' quality, the sheekh kebabs are awesome, Dum Biryani has always benn their forte. The hearty and 'heavy' meal has to end with out of the world Falooda.
At the rear exit, they have added a 'chaat' section. Mostly vegetarian fare, this section serves the best 'Dahi Papdi' in the part of town.
The prices seem to be very high (if compared with other restaurants in the area), but once you have the taste, the expense is justified.
