“feeling at home”
Reviewed 10 November 2012

It is wonderful to feel at home in a big city like Mumbai: Travellers Inn makes it possible. We were delighted by the cleanliness, the warm welcome at the reception, the excellent service and the safety. We, mother (70) and daughter (40) enjoyed the stay from the Indian breakfast in the morning till the good night wishes of the hotel boys. Also our Indian friends came to the conclusion that this centrally located hotel is a good and cheap place to stay.

Room Tip: It is worth booking an AC room.

stayed at hotel travellers inn in last week of spetember,2012. nice, decent and clean place. desk guys were helful. though we had some problem in booking due to confusion about room availability, some phone calls solved out problem. it is near VT station and centrally located in south mumbai. this hotel can serve as stopover in mumbai. dont expect much in this price. cleanliness was the plus point. mostly occupied by foreign nationals for long stay, its a good choice, cozy place.

The rooms are decent and clean, but the air inside was stuffy, perhaps due to the old dusty curtains and the moldy dust ridden vents of the A/C. The A/C is working just enough to blow semi-cold air so you'd still need to turn on the ceiling fan.
The beddings and sheets thankfully do not have any bed bugs (or at least I was not attacked with nasty bites), but there could be dust mites, as is a given with budget accommodations.
The bathroom fixtures are understandably old, but clean and do serve their purpose. Heater works fine too.

The daytime manager Mohit was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Days after we had checked out, he allowed us to leave our baggage at the hostel while we roamed around exploring the city. He also mentioned that we could use the inn's common washroom facilities should we wish to take a bath before heading off. We were also welcome to stay and use the internet (for a minimal fee) while we waited for our flight. Again this was days after we had checked out and we just returned to Mumbai as a stopover to catch the plane to Bangalore.

However, the night shift manager wasn't as friendly and engaging as the day manager.
The staff are painfully polite and unobstrusive.

I stayed at the travellers inn for 3 nights. I found the hostel very clean and affordable. Its close to all major sights near colaba and close to a railway station to access other parts of Mumbai/India. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, and when my bank stopped my card they were more than understanding about possibly staying an extra night and paying late.
The man at reception is brilliant, any bus or train or plant tickets you need he knows someone who can organise them at a very reasonable price, saving you the Hassel, and the tickets get delivered to the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Mumbai is a very hot place (as I'm sure you know) so an aircon room would be ideal, but I manage...

The hotel is located within walking distance (15-20 minutes) to all the mayor sights. The rooms are clean but small and still quite expensive compared to other cities in India. For Mumbai however, it seems to be reasonable priced. Breakfast is included and is ok. But if you forget to order it the night before, you won't get it (even if you stay more than just one night and ordered it for the first morning, they won't serve it the second morning when you don't mention it the second night!)! WiFi is very slow and only works in the hallway. Furthermore, there is no common room to meet other travellers and the staff seemed not to bee motivated to work at all...

We found the reception very helpful and the staff were always friendly. The air conditioning was a little noisy but it did its job well. Breakfast was served to the room and was OK - small but enough.
Overall a nice hotel with a clean room in a good location.

Helpful staff, and good value rooms considering how expensive everything is in Mumbai. Definitely would stay here again, was in a great location and was nice and clean. Within walking distance of cst and colaba, and near lots of good value restaurants/cafe's.
