“An awesome quick getaway”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

I live in Malad and Manoribel is my fav mini Goa get away. Just one ferry ride away it's calm peaceful with great Goan food and a beautiful view. The staff is nice. It is a bit on the higher side as far as costing goes, but I guess that's why the people who visit aren't noisy drunk riff rafs like the other places around.

Need a quick weekend getaway... Go here. You can watch d sunset with beer and book in hand :)

Manoribel has become an annual feature of my family calendar as it has a simple rustic and restful feel to it that draws one back for some much-needed R&R in the mad rush of Mumbai. It's just an hour or so away from most points in Mumbai and yet totally quiet and peaceful, with a village-ambience lending an innocence to the resort. Amenities are quite basic while the absence of a TV in the room makes for great family-oriented quality-time as do the different sports options on offer. The beach is right at ones footsteps and is relatively clean and deserted. The hammocks in the coconut grove near the beach add to the slumberous and relaxing experience. The home-grown spinach dishes are awesome and the saturday tandoori dinner a good variation while the caramel custard is also great. The food is a bit on the expensive side though. The sea-water, due to its proximity to Mumbai, is polluted and best avoided however. Overall, its a lovely unwinding experience for a family/couple.

Room Tip: Cottages no.5, 6 & 7 are on the quietr end and on the beach-front.

We chose to visit the Manoribel as a first stop in India to avoid the cost and hassle of staying in Mumbai city. We were travelling with children and definitely made the right choice. It's a spacious and very relaxed place which only seems to fill up on Saturdays and Sundays with weekenders from the city. We had an air-con garden room but as it wasn't humid at all we decided that we should have booked the sea-facing cottages which looked idyllic. The facilities were great for kids with table tennis, basketball, treehouse and play area as well as direct access to the beach. The environment was really pleasant with a beautiful kitchen garden and greenhouse to admire. The only improvement would be in the speed of service in the restaurant and perhaps the choice of dishes on offer.

Room Tip: Go for the beach-facing cottages.

This is home away from home.. you have beach just 10 steps away from your resort..it is very scenic & quite place. Food is bit expensive. Surprisingly fish food is not that great. i can vouch abt chicken / mutton. You can play beach sports as beaches are usually clean.

A very good resort in an extremely peaceful setting with cottages/rooms besides the beach. It is away from the maddening crowd of Mumbai and yet reachable within an hr and a half from most points of the city. The cottages are really nice and they do have indoor games.

If any criticism, it would have to be the food. Considering there are no restaurants around the resort and that visitors are totally dependent on their food, there is a lot to be desired. The food is priced on the higher side and there is no value for money. It failed to tickle my taste buds. All in all a good experience.

Just happened to explore this resort - only on the basis of all the positive reviews for this place on the net -- and the place is surely THE BEST resort at manori beach. (We compared it with all the other places next day on both Gorai as well as Manori -- and though its more expensive than all others-- its surely the best)
The rooms are simple - unlike a hotel - but are clean and the resort has a very soothing , calm and relaxing ambiance, something that you actually want for a weekend getaway.
The resort is loacted right on the Manori beach and I find Manori much better than Gorai and would recommend this beach to anyone looking for a less crowded place -- though one should NOT expect the crystal clear blue waters - Atleast I can not enter such water or take bath. Manori as well as Gorai -- are rocky beaches and one must be Very careful, especially during high tide.
But even that, keeps the resort worth visting - atleat for walk along the beach or feet dipping in shallow end.
But this resort doesnt serve any Hard Liquor -- and if you have any plans to enjoy that on this lovely serene resort -- Please carry your own booze.

Room Tip: Tree house - is good, but at night the trees Sway a lot, making odd noise & can be a bit disturb...

I recently visited this place with family. We were two family with young kids(2-7years). The drive from Mumbai was comfortable. the website has directions which made it easy and also i got call from the resort in middle who guided me when I was a bit confused. I was really excited to reach a quiet place along the beach side.
The check was really quick.
We got 2 cottages 4A and 5A which are both beach facing and side by side. The cottages are comfy with Ac. Thet are spacious and have a mosquito net. the bath is ok, water flow is very slow and very basic toiletries. The cottages have lot of open area and several hammock right infromnt. the kids enjoyed the Hammock until they rushed into Beach. The beach was clean but the water is polluted. Lot of rocks-which is good and bad. The kids enjoyed the beach..
The room service is slow and we ordered for some snacks which were average. The fish had severe sea stink. Paneer Pakoras-please avoid-Panner is like rubber.
We had several games of table tennis till it was evening. Then again all of us had a stoll on the beach minus dippin. The view from our cottages was great so we all sat outside in comfortable chairs and enjoying intoxicating beverages and chatting. The management was kind to accept our kind request to serve food at cottage.
For Nov veg-try Chilli Ckicken and Vindaloo. For Veg : Veg Kohlapuri is good. Rotis were awesome.
The breakfast option is too expensive for what they serve so avoid if you can.

Room Tip: Take a long time for room service. Place lot is advance. they took 45 min for frech fries that kids...
