Woodside Inn, Colaba, is a lively little bar tucked into a corner of one of the old buildings off the Regal circle. In recent months they have begun to keep a couple of nice beers on tap from a local micro-brewery. This is a cosy place in the evening: the kind where you might want to go to for an after dinner drink with a group of friends.
When you go from the bar on the ground floor to the restaurant above, your experience can change. It is a small place, with about 8 tables, so there might be a little bit of a wait. The look is quite pleasant during the day. The trouble is the food. Between the completely bland mashed potatoes accompanying the overdone fish and the spicy oil on which the overdone roasted lamb floats belly up, it is clearly struggling to find a definition of continental food which would appeal to the very young crowd which clogs the tables. The service is friendly but not effective. The "free wifi" sign is presumably left over from an earlier time.
All in all, stay with the bar. Eat somewhere else.
