I went to mumbai for the first time with my friends. I wad quite apprehensive about the stay as I had booked it online. But I was very happy when I reached there. We walked down to taj, gate way of india, colaba. Beautiful and safe location to stay. Totally worth it.

We got in lat 2am and had to wait 30 minutes for our air con room to be cleaned. We tipped them hoping that would get them to move faster. The bed was without sheets and we froze in our room. There was nowhere to eat our breakfast that was included. People sleeping outside our room on plastic chairs. Internet only worked during certain hours. Staff did not smile and not very helpful. I wouldn't go back- ever!

Room Tip: The place was hard to find even cab drivers couldn't find it- if you dare go there find a landma...

Everybody was extremelly nice and helpful. The hotel dates from imperial times and you cannot expect ti to be grand, but it has the basics, it is well located and the personnel outstanding. Most likely, we will be back. Caution, there is no lifts and if you have problems with stairs, stay away.

Room Tip: There is no top sheet on the beds when you arrive, but if you ask for it, they will bring it without...

Stayed for one night in Jan-14.

Hotel is located within walking distance from Mumbai's goodies and staff is nice and helpful with good tips to explore city.

My room was nice, clean, small and inexpensive.

I will stay here in my future Mumbai visits.

Rooms was small, bedding was dirty, floor grubby and bathroom musty, definately a place where sleeping on a sarong and under a damp beach towel were better. In the morning, the staff couldn't agree on what we'd agreed on upon arrival, and came across as rude, aggressive and confrontational, despite the umpteen posters behind the desk explaining that customer satisfaction is key to success. We only stayed one night out of two and went else where.

Staff were extremely rude & aggressive. Rooms are small & unclean. Bedding could do with being changed or simply cleaned! Very small shower/toilet. Unfriendly atmosphere. We checked out early & up graded! Only thing it has going for itself is it's located centrally.

Have zero complaints for the budget end hotel that it is... We paid 2000 rupees a night for a similar room that we had in Udaipur for 800... It is Mumbai and Mumbai is expensive...

The staff were great, it was clean, neat and a close walk to all of the cool bits...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The hotel is designed to make your stay comfortable and relaxed after you have returned to your room from a busy day at work or after taking a tour of the city's finest offerings. Easily accessible from the Airport, Western Express Highway, Eastern Express Highway, and the nearest railway station at Andheri, Hotel Traveller's Inn is located in the most convenient location possible. We have evolved with time, we have learned that our guest are mostly foreign tourist, managers, trainee and new recruits of large organisations who want a comfortable stay at affordable price. We do not encourage facilities that increase the cost of the room. Our aim is to provide Budgeted accommodation along with the best we can provide without affecting the budget of the guest of Mumbai." We at Hotel Traveller's Inn have fixed tariff throughout the year, even when the hotel does 97% occupancy you can still get a room at the same price as you would get if it hadn't sold a room that day. We do not believe in changing rates as occupancy increases. The rooms are mainly of 2 types. 1st category has 36 AC rooms with attached bathroom. All the rooms in this category have 2 single beds. 2nd category of rooms has 23 economy rooms. First time ever in Mumbai, this types of rooms are available with the same comfort of the AC rooms for half the price. Economy rooms have 100% privacy, personal TV, and a fan. External bathroom facility with ample number of bathrooms and toilets reducing the waiting time to almost nil. The bathrooms are kept neat and clean 24/7. ... more   less
