“One of the worst Intercon ever ”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

We were traveling wth a group of 4 people, staying in one of the executive rooms with seafront view. Anyway, the room was terribly old, the Bose stereo was old & hardly function. The massage service was way below std & the dirty. The food at the Thai restaurant was terrible but the Indian restaurant's dinner was fantastic. That's the only thing we were really happy about.

This was mu first stay in this property of IHG and really liked it. The location is fantastic as it is right on the Marine Drive (The Queen's Necklace). The rooms are excellent. Enjoyed the food at Kebab Corner and Koh, excellent Indian and Thai cuisines. Service and support staff were excellent and always ready to help. Would like to come back here again on my next trip to Mumbai.

Not a bad hotel, but not up to the same stands of most InterContinental properties. It is the smallest hotel in the chain worldwide - only 58 rooms -- & positions itself as a "boutique" hotel. And it could, in fact, carry this off "if" hotel ownership upgraded the property. Wooden floors & carpets in the rooms need to be refinished & replaced. Chipped & worn furniture is past due for replacement. At the very least, the entire building needs to have windows replaced with double-pane noise-reduction windows, to reduce the heavy traffic noise of Marine Drive. I opted for the "seafront" room to get the view, but the trade off with the noise was not worth it & I would not make the same selection if I returned. Other reviewers have mentioned the Dome rooftop bar & it was another disappointment. A big tent on top of the building that is not air conditioned, so it is an absolute sauna. The small enclosed bar is not as large as the room we had, & had all the charm of an elevator interior. The pool was closed, as others have mentioned, during our visit.
The lobby is lovely & gives a good impression, & the Staff is professional, welcoming & capable, but the property lets them down as well. Nothing in the immediate area actually, so if you are looking for a property where you have many options nearby, this is not the property for your stay. You can walk left out the front door to the stop light, & find Bay Pizza on the corner which is pleasant. Then go left & you find Gaylord which is a well-respected local restaurant. Across the street from Gaylord is a local chinese restaurant & a place named Salt Water which seemed popular, but when we went in for a drink they said they only had 1 type of beer & it was $10 US per bottle, so not much going on there. Otherwise, nothing much in the immediate area. Again, we were impressed with the Staff & their efforts, but disappointed in the property itself. As other reviewers have pointed out, the noise from other guests is EASILY audible in your room. Every step on the wood floors. Every phone conversation. The TV programs. Just general conversations from the room next door. So bad when we were there, that a good night's sleep was only a wish.

Stayed here for a business trip in 2010 for a week. Besides the nice room and services, just loved the Indian Breakfast spread especially baked yogurt * a must eat when you are here :-)

The day we arrived was rather late after an important appointment just after landing in Mumbai. We ordered a tiffin meal for dinner. it was just awesome.

Love to be back here in our next trip to Mumbai

Stayed twice their and was both times very satisfied. Location is excellent, staff very friendly and rooms big enough with sophisticated furniture. Breakfast is excellent too. Smaller and more boutique-like than the usual InterConti, what I personally prefer. The pool is pigeon-free (unlike in many other Indianluxury hotels) and has a very nice view, unfortunately sun loungers were missing at my last stay.

We will definitly come back!

Stayed here with family in June 2014. We were upgraded to a Sea view room on arrival and were also offered a late afternoon checkout on Sunday - both to my pleasant surprise. The rooms were quite large and very nicely done up. The breakfast at 'Long and Short' was good too - a nice spread and laid back ambiance at the restaurant made for a great, lazy Sunday morning.

One area where they can definitely improve is the service.
On arrival, the bell boy wasn't available until asked for. At the restaurant, the food is good but the servers are slow to respond. My requests to modify a certain recipe from the menu were overlooked twice, however they were quick to amend the same. Another disappointment was the unavailability of the masseuse on the day of our stay.

Overall experience was very good; the location is great and the place is value for money.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are great!

Stayed here with family in November , to be part of the history when Sir Sachin played his last test match.
Not to guess the location was chosen to be closest to wankhede stadium , where the action was . Stayed here for 3 nights , in 2 connecting rooms , both sea facing , and by looking at the size of the building thought rooms would be crampy but were amazed to see the size of rooms and bathrooms both, vey decent as per mumbai standards.
As were busy whole day in cricket , had breakfast only at the restaurants , which was lavish and impressive , liked the way the fresh fruits were presented on a stick , like a kebab , fresh juices , fresh fruits, lot of indian and continental dishes, staff very courteous n friendly , our stay included 30 mins of inroom spa which was also an added bonus , nice size of bed with utmost linen n upholstery. Nice view of the marine drive , all in all a very pleasurable n comfortable stay , would definately stay again.
Dome and swimming pool on roof top are also added bonus which we couldnt use for lack of timing.
