“3 Week Stay - Great hotel, but expensive”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

I've just got back after staying at this hotel for 3 weeks during a work trip. The hotel was great, staff were fantastic, and even eventually learned i'd not be awake before 10am so not to wake me up wanting to clean my room!

Other than the expensive meals and drinks, i thought this hotel was fantasic, Gym, Pool, Rooms and Staff were all 5 star... i just wish the Beer & Food wasn't so expensive!

Would stay here again, but if i didn't come here on business i'd try to avoid eating and drinking at the hotel.

This is my second stay at this hotel due to business. The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is really nice (several options which are always fresh and tasty). The topic that got my attention, the friendly and extremely competent approach of all the staff. A special remark to Anthony (concierge manager). Last year he introduced to one tour guide (Mala Bangera) who arranged excellent city tour and tips fro Mumbai. Got in contact with her during this visit and she was again more than helpful. We also needed help to book a weekend trip to Bangkok and Anthony solved it to us in a very quick and efficient way. Will definitely recommend the hotel and the concierge services.

Room Tip: ask for a room with view to the lake and non-smoking floor

The Hotel is set in impressive surroundings and is a well maintained property. We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and always had a good overall experience. This time however, I must say that it was not so great. We travelled to Mumbai for medical reasons. We were given a room in the old wing where there are no separate shower cubicles. I asked the duty manager, Farah if we could please be allocated a room with a separate shower in view of my wife's current medical situation. She told me that the hotel was fully booked on that date and that she would see what she could do on the next day. We were given a room that stank of dampness but was told that this was the only room available for that night.
The next morning, my wife asked Fara, the duty manager again whether we could be allocated a room with a separate shower and she was told that there were no such rooms in the entire hotel and should she wish to have a separate walk in shower, she would have to pay to be upgraded to a suite. This is a blatant lie as all the rooms in the Tower Wing have separate shower. And that property had such rooms available. My wife explained once again that she was not asking for a free upgrade but merely for better facility due to her condition but request was refused outright by this Farah Person! We did not expect such behaviour from a Duty Manager from a worldwide chain.
Very disappointed by the lack of concern and blatant disregard for guests comfort and health.

I have been to Mumbai regularly for business and this still is my favorite place to stay. It offers a break from the bustling city of Mumbai, a great view on lak Powai. I really love that view espcially in the morning. The breakfast is always good as well as the Italian, Chinese and Indian restaurants that are hosted in the Hotel. There are some nice shops in the back of the hoteal giving you the opportunity to buy some gifts in case you don't have the time to go in to the City. I've triede every other facility here from the pedicure, massage, fitness area and Velvet Lounge (night club).

Recently I stayed in a room and had a couple of issues. When I reported that I was upgraded to suite for the inconvenience! The staff here is dedicated fo make your stay perfect and they will succeed every time.

In short: is has everything for a business of leisure stay.

Stayed here for 5 nights and the customer service was exceptional. A great executive lounge, breakfast variety was vast & fresh includes a full bakey cooking in front of you. Facilities are extensive and there is lots of room so even in a city of 22m this hotel did not feel crowded.

Room Tip: High floors give a better view

Was here was a business trip and an event which was to be held at this hotel itself. Here are my observations about the good and the bad:-

Room - I chose the smoking option and got a room at the first floor which was Powai Lake Facing.. Only one word Awesome View. The room furniture and the look was dated, however the location was just awesome.

Internet - Free for 7 nights, but if you need to get it free for always at a good speed, then make sure to quote your Marriott membership while booking and internet would be free for you. The speed is nice on both WiFi and Wire.

Service - Another great positive. At each and every corner of this hotel, service is the first priority... From reception to the gym everyone wants to give you the best experience which is a huge plus for me.

Food - Breakfast spread is nice and is served in a nice restaurant.

Location - The location is just awesome, one face of the hotel faces the Powai Lake overlooking Heeranandani which is a great view.. the other face overlooks the lush green mountain.

Price - It is expensive...

Overall a nice place... It was a nice experience hence a FIVE rating from me...

Room Tip: Room number 1128 if you like the Lake View

Over the years, i have come to learn that its the staff and their hospitality that makes the difference. Its their personal touch and that a bit of extra effort that makes your stay from good to amazing....

Being loyal to another chain of hotels over the years....i Choose this hotel for the location.....i had to be in the area...i found out that it was very close to both the airports as well....

Reservation- I made my reservation online...it was smooth , no problems, and since it was my anniversary on the day i wanted to make a couple of special requests and also wanted to request for my airport pick up....Christopher was very prompt at the travel desk...very much in control....miss oyster and miss sucheta malhotra where very kind on the phone taking my requests and i could feel that they understood how significant my special day was.....with such a positive vibe on the phone i knew my stay was going to be special.

Airport pick was smooth as ever....great driving...good car....security at the entrance was top notch...

My check in was in no time.....may be in just 3 minutes....very impressive...my traditional welcome was very touching...

My room was on the 33rd floor....view was simply breath taking....room was amazing...no flaws...i checked everything...i felt house keeping had done a wonerful job of having my room ready....my bouquet of flowers kept on the table as requested....a very special complimentary cake....Thanks miss malhota and miss oyster for that!!!...and special thanks to the chef ....lovely cake!!

Bathroom was lovely....great amenities....great shower...loved it..

We had lunch at one of the restaurants downstairs. we odered the a la carte menu...food was nice...great view.....Anand was amazing...very attentive....made sure our lunch went smooth..

The pool is one of the best ive seen in the mumbai hotels.....i loved it...

Club lounge had an amazing view of the lake...drinks flowing....great food....loved watching the cricket match there....mohan the bar tender was great at what he was doing....rohit was a great host...came and chatted with us...great vibe...we had an amazing time at the lounge.....

Breakfast was brilliant..better than some of the hotels ive stayed in mumbai....such a lovely spread....warm and fresh breads....service was brilliant....everything was wonderful....
