“Quiet, peaceful but pool needs a clean”
Reviewed 20 April 2013 via mobile

I spent 10 weeks in this hotel during my move to Mumbai. Now that we're settled in Powai, we regularly visit the hotel at the weekends for lunch, health club and use of the pool. The hotel is in an excellent, peaceful location with a beautiful view across the lake to Powai. Because of this, we stay every year at Dwali so the kids can at least sleep! My only complaint is the pool; it is obvious the pool is not cleaned regularly (dirty tiles) which is some what a put-off. Other than that, an excellent hotel with great staff.

After 6 years I just stayed at the Renaissance hotel in Powai and was happy to get a room in the tower. The expansive views are worth a few thousand rupees extra. But one must have the time to enjoy them.
the access to the tower is a bit painful with a long walk in a thankfully glasses in corridor at the back of the main lobby. The property is very nice in keeping with the renaissance hotels worldover.

I've just got back after staying at this hotel for 3 weeks during a work trip. The hotel was great, staff were fantastic, and even eventually learned i'd not be awake before 10am so not to wake me up wanting to clean my room!

Other than the expensive meals and drinks, i thought this hotel was fantasic, Gym, Pool, Rooms and Staff were all 5 star... i just wish the Beer & Food wasn't so expensive!

Would stay here again, but if i didn't come here on business i'd try to avoid eating and drinking at the hotel.

This is my second stay at this hotel due to business. The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is really nice (several options which are always fresh and tasty). The topic that got my attention, the friendly and extremely competent approach of all the staff. A special remark to Anthony (concierge manager). Last year he introduced to one tour guide (Mala Bangera) who arranged excellent city tour and tips fro Mumbai. Got in contact with her during this visit and she was again more than helpful. We also needed help to book a weekend trip to Bangkok and Anthony solved it to us in a very quick and efficient way. Will definitely recommend the hotel and the concierge services.

Room Tip: ask for a room with view to the lake and non-smoking floor

The Hotel is set in impressive surroundings and is a well maintained property. We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and always had a good overall experience. This time however, I must say that it was not so great. We travelled to Mumbai for medical reasons. We were given a room in the old wing where there are no separate shower cubicles. I asked the duty manager, Farah if we could please be allocated a room with a separate shower in view of my wife's current medical situation. She told me that the hotel was fully booked on that date and that she would see what she could do on the next day. We were given a room that stank of dampness but was told that this was the only room available for that night.
The next morning, my wife asked Fara, the duty manager again whether we could be allocated a room with a separate shower and she was told that there were no such rooms in the entire hotel and should she wish to have a separate walk in shower, she would have to pay to be upgraded to a suite. This is a blatant lie as all the rooms in the Tower Wing have separate shower. And that property had such rooms available. My wife explained once again that she was not asking for a free upgrade but merely for better facility due to her condition but request was refused outright by this Farah Person! We did not expect such behaviour from a Duty Manager from a worldwide chain.
Very disappointed by the lack of concern and blatant disregard for guests comfort and health.

I have been to Mumbai regularly for business and this still is my favorite place to stay. It offers a break from the bustling city of Mumbai, a great view on lak Powai. I really love that view espcially in the morning. The breakfast is always good as well as the Italian, Chinese and Indian restaurants that are hosted in the Hotel. There are some nice shops in the back of the hoteal giving you the opportunity to buy some gifts in case you don't have the time to go in to the City. I've triede every other facility here from the pedicure, massage, fitness area and Velvet Lounge (night club).

Recently I stayed in a room and had a couple of issues. When I reported that I was upgraded to suite for the inconvenience! The staff here is dedicated fo make your stay perfect and they will succeed every time.

In short: is has everything for a business of leisure stay.

Stayed here for 5 nights and the customer service was exceptional. A great executive lounge, breakfast variety was vast & fresh includes a full bakey cooking in front of you. Facilities are extensive and there is lots of room so even in a city of 22m this hotel did not feel crowded.

Room Tip: High floors give a better view
