It may not be the Taj Mahal (the palace, not the hotel near the Gateway of India), but this arch is to Mumbai what the former is to Delhi. It is an impressive structure that seems to constantly have a large crowd of people around it. For a small fee, you can have your picture taken in several poses with different buildings in the background. Just make sure you negotiate the price.
Hawkers are everywhere, and if you deal with them you must make sure you get what you think you are getting. A balloon seller was walking around with a huge inflated balloon under his arm. He held a package of five un-inflated balloons in his hand. My wife asked how much and he responded $10. She talked him down to $3 and the deal was consummated. Upon opening the package and blowing up a balloon we found out they were about one-fifth the size of the inflated balloon he was holding.
In Mumbai, it truly is "buyer beware."
