The location, scenic view of the sea, the magnificence of Taj hotels.. its all worth it. Avoid weekends to visit this location as it gets really crowded over the weekends. Avoid taking your own car as there is no parking available close to the location. Better to take taxi. Take some time out to sit and relax and enjoy the breeze.

Must see place in Mumbai. Any day any time of the year you will hundreds flocking here. Built in 1911 to welcome King George and the Queen it's a magnificent stone structure opposite the iconic Taj Hotel.

This should be a 'must visit' place, not just for its salubrious environs but for the historical importance of the monument. The place is always bustling with people, the sea view is calming. But a note of caution to avoid persistent vendors.

As the name mentions, this is the gateway to Mumbai. In earlier days, ships used to come here. Even today, not ships but people go on ferries to go to other islands such as Elephanta caves. Regular ferries run everyday.

On the opposite side, we have Hotel Taj Mahal which is an iconic hotel with history of terrorist attack on it. It has become a tourist attraction itself.
Though you can visit Gateway of India for less than an hour, I can spend much more than this enjoying the views and surroundings.
