The building is best example of british architecture. The carvings are very intricate and inside the building though the ticket counters are shabby the high ceiling and stained glass are worth a visit.
There is a museum attached to this which opens in afternoon. Opposite to this there is another building which houses BMC which is also worth a visit.

“Colonial Architecture at its zenith”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

What a sight, immortalised by the Bollywood as anyone entering Mumbai has to come out from here only. Huge imposing structures, with non stop traffic round the clock inside and outside. Always wondered whether the hurrying office goers going back home ever stop and admire the lovely site ( I Doubt.) but for someone with a few minutes its a must to gawk at the CST Building take a few pics and then enter to the sounds of Train Horns and bustle all around, it is wonderful yes..........

“Enjoy the BEauty of the Building and Crowd!”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

CST (earlier VT Station) is all the time busy station for Mumbai Locals and long distance trains. It is very much crowded during peak office hrs 9 - 11 am and 6 -8 pm where one can see millions of people moving in/out of the trians.
This station is a world heritage site and has excellent architectural design (Italian Gothic mixed with Moughal traditional building). During the festival time it is decorated with thousands of lights and its a treat to watch this building in the night! It was built in 18th Century by the British.
