Powai is a heavy traffic area due to the connection available across the east to west of Mumbai city. In all the movement, the lake signifies the calm. In absence of spots where you can unwind peacefully; the lake is a a great place to spend some quite time.
Beware there is no Parking available. Hence prefer a auto-rickshaw over a car. The nearest railway station is KanjurMarg, which is 3-4 km away. There are no water sports activities. The lake cannot be categorized as sight-seeing attraction. It is a peaceful place for the localites.

Once upon a time, Powai lake was considered to be in the outskirts of Mumbai, with IIT and Larsen & Toubro as neighbours. It was a dream of every Mumbaikar then to study in the prestigeous institute(IIT) and get a job in L & T. Powai lake stands as a witness of Mumbai Dreams. Mumbai has expanded in size, making Powai as heart of Mumbai, a stone's throw from Hiranandani Complex- a modern business district with elite residence. Powai lake still has the boat houses at one end, a big five-star hotel overlooking it condescendingly. You can get best view of Powai lake, if you walk around the garden on its circumference or if you have money, sit sipping a cup of costly coffee in the Five-star Hotel. Powai lake will treat you equally well..

Today only I visited this place and this place is one of the worst place to visit on earth. There is nothing to see apart from couples hugging n kissing each other! And if u want to feed mosquitoes then go there n be tasty food for them! Don't visit simply!

Never seen a so huge quantity of garbage as like around the Powai Lake... it was famous as a pleasant place, located in the heart of the greenish natural reserve of the Maharashtra state, ideal for people looking for quiet and relax. Wrong! Today, this lake is sort of a trash bucket. And that's it. Why do I have to visit it? Honestly, I don't know.
