“Comfortable hotel with good service”

I enjoyed this hotel. Good value especially when you don't want to stay in a 5 star hotel. We also chose this hotel because of old friends of my husband who live close to this hotel. They recommended this hotel as they eat in their restaurant sometimes. And I must say the local Indian food was very good. Nice rooms, comfortable and modern with good facilities. The pastry shop was very good. The service right from the beginning until we checked out was good.

I have stayed here once before and this was my second stay. Excellent in all ways. Very comfortable rooms, great washrooms. The food especially the Indian food and the pastry shop are just excellent. Decent breakfast spread, though more variety always welcome especially when your not rushed.
The bar was nice and modern. Quiet and friendly service. My only regret is that I did not try the spa, the spa menu looked very inticing. Overall I liked this hotel and would stay here again.

Return visit to the hotel and reassurringly received the same excellent welcome and service throughout my stay. Tried the sandwiches in the pastry shop and found them to be very good.
The restaurant was running a food festival of Kashmiri cuisine which is very different from the usual food festivals and was an interesting experience. The overall experience was as good as my previous visit and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel which is excellent value for money. The hotel also has a spa which i did not try but hope to do so at the next visit. The artwork in the lobby was different from my previous visit and is a very innovative way of showcasing local artists. My compliments to the management team for a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors towards the rear or south side of the hotel are quieter

Hotel is located in good location and their service was very impressive, but we had a little problem with their WiFi connection. The bar and restaurant in the hotel was also excelent. This place is recommneded for your stay in Mumbai.

Was a short 2 day trip to Mumbai. Normally my work is always in Navi Mumbai but this time luckily my work brought me to South Bombay. South Bombay is the happening place . I really like this hotel. Something about it, warm and cozy, good service, friendly staff, and great absolutely great food. The room was small but very well planned and fully functional. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. As a female traveler felt very secure.

We are currently guests at the shalimar hotel. We arrived and there was dust everywhere in room, had to ring for house keeper twice, no running hot water had to ring again this is all at 23.30 at night after an exhausting flight. Mould in the shower tray. One of the main factors we chose this hotel was free wifi in rooms. However, this is not the case we did not have wifi access straight away because apparently their network was down then we heard nothing from them and had to trace them ourselves. They make you sign a disclaimer but don't inform you anywhere on the Internet where they advertise that only 20 clients are allowed to be logged onto the wifi at any given time. Therefore, if all 64 rooms are occupied with 2 more people only 20 people are allowed to be logged on. So every time I logged on my husband got disconnected.
First and last stay, we are in Mumbai for 6 nights but will check out tomorrow and sought a different hotel.

Thank you for the time that you have taken in putting up a review even whilst being a guest with us.

I did not respond to your review earlier as I was still trying to figure out the reason behind your eagerness and intentions to put up a review in this manner. You were booked to stay with us for one night, but the image that you have portrayed is that you are checking out in a day, because we are below standards. Not once did you bring your observations to the notice of the management, but directly proceeded to put up a review on Trip Advisor. However, after you were spoken to by senior management and offered an upgrade to a higher category room, you extended your stay not once but twice and gave a very positive feedback about all the services including Wi-Fi, which seemed to be your greatest concern with us. You even tried to force an upgrade to a suite, which was politely refused. In addition, our Front Office Manager spoke to you personally on each day to ensure you are having a comfortable stay, which you agreed too.

Each room is cleaned by the Room Attendant every day, checked by the Supervisor and the Housekeeper personally to ensure that room standards are maintained at all times. We are also quite surprised by this line on shower tray. These are bathtubs and over the last several years, guests have been using it and quite happy with the same. As for Wi-Fi, our service provider has confirmed that at one time more than 100 users can login and work at high speed. I am sure this 20 users line is some form of a misinterpretation on your part, for whatsoever reasons.

We are a 51 year old hotel, having successfully extended hospitality of the highest order to every guest who walks in. We believe in our guests and their feedback, and have worked hard to reach the position we are at. We have valued each and every opinion and where practical, implemented the suggestion. Our team strives to ensure guests go back with fond memories and return to us on their future visits to the city. And we take pride in the success we have achieved on this front.

We have upgraded our facilities in the hotel and each room, including highspeed broadband connection from a service provider, who is amongst the best in the country. Our rooms are maintained in the best possible manner and regular renovations and refurbishments are carried out to ensure a guest gets the best.

The hotel is not close to tourist sites but if you have business in the Kemp's corner, Breach Candy area, this is the perfect location. The staff is very helpful. The front office manager, Siddharth was extremely helpful and accommodating in caring for some special family related issues we had.
The internet used to be a problem but it is improving. The on site restaurant has excellent food. The rooms are clean and comfortable. All the staff members are polite and helpful without being cloying.
