Huge property with excellent service. However, its a very old property & hence currently its needs a face lift. The pool is not maintained so well
The resort has all the amenities to keep you busy - pool, indoor games room, gym, spa etc.
Good option for a weekend getaway (if it gets renovated soon)
Food taste is good & breakfast is quite lavish.
wonderful place for weddings / functions incase the visitors have their owned vehicles. No chance of auto/taxis
The biggest disadvantage is the dried fish smell which a lot of times gets onto you

Room Tip: Suite rooms on highers floors. Also try & take the rooms facing the sea

Wen I entered dis property I was impressed wd it's infra. Even d room n d view frm it was pleasing. BT den Wat turned me off dis place for for eva
1. They do not Hv packaged drinking water in d room(for me it was a horrific fact dt I'm expected 2 drink a purified water in dis starred hotel)
2. For a bathrobe 2 go 2 d pool I was asked 2 contact d lobby manager(r u serious about this guys.. I felt like laughing 2 dis.)
3. The spread of all d meals is tiny.. not much of an eye appeal plus not a great variety at all.
4. The taste of d food in lunch was good so on d basis of dt I invited a few guests to join us fr dinner and Wat a fiasco it was bcoz all d ala carte items v ordered wer rubbish. D creme of tomato was salty d revised version dint show ne signs of revision. D malai kebab was so hard dt sum1 cud hv choked on swallowing. Till all dis cud b rectified d tandoori ws shut chefs went home n all dt v cud order ws rice variety n finger foods. N dis was at 11 pm in d night which isn't dt late 2 b served. The manager ws sorry abt it all n offerd sum food frm d buffet but dt cudnt Hv made it. basically our guests went widout consuming a proper dinner.
5. In d morning another joke was dt wen v called for a dental kit they said dt it was chargeable. (I was speechless n I kept d fone down)
In n all a very disturbing experience. Sumthn dt u definitely dnt look forward on ur vacation. I am a consistent visitor 2 most of d hotels in dis vicinity n dis hotel in spite of charging 8000 a night has provided us wd a disheartening experience. A place to which I wud neva wana return.

We stayed there with another family for a night this weekend. The problem started soon after we landed there, the checkin desk kept me waiting for 30 minutes (nobody asking for water even). Kids were hungry so we asked them to hurry up, they informed us that they were not able to locate my booking from booking.com.

Finally after me raising my voice they agreed to give us the rooms at the previously booked rates but the rooms had two tiny separate beds, where we struggled to sleep with the kids. But thats not it...at around 10.30 PM my bed broke. It was one of the legs on the headside. I called up house keeping and they said they are sending someone up...no one showed up for 15 minutes...I had to call thrice and wait for 45 minutes, no help arrived.

I then rang up the duty manager's number it was busy, then I called up the reception and gave them properly. By this time I had lost my patience and was regretting on my decision to stay there.

The hotels badly stinks of fish because of the beach next to it where fishermen dry it (btw, Retreat calls it a private beach...LOL, yes it is but some fisherman's).

Food is not to so great and is highly priced... for two normal meals we paid more than the room tariff (this was without any alcohol or any aerated drinks).

The water is the washroom is salty and it stinks as if directly sourced from the sea. Bathtub was dirty and sticky.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

An amazing hotel, Greeted at the door with a baggage man.
All marble inside, the outside pool is breath taking! Like a scene from a movie.

Wifi is available for 100 rupees for 2 hours. Room service is also available at no additional delivery fees. I was offered free breakfast buffet with a variety of food dishes offered, make your own omelet section and a dosa section.
All in all a fantastic hotel located on a prime beach property.

Room Tip: Choose the room with the pool/beach view.

I had visited this place in October 2010. The hotel is on the beach. However does not face the beach. So there is no sea view from the rooms. The pool is quite big and well maintained. The rooms are ok. The service is good. The food is just about average. Actually food is really not value for money. Prices are steep for what you get in return. All in all an average place for the price that you pay.

We had stayed here in a group of 25 members from our team for one of the training workshops in September'13. Overall the stay was quite pleasant and services were excellent. Only issue is the location which is quite far and you need to have your own vehicle to reach the location...
