My family and me enjoyed the two nights we spent at this exceptionally landscaped hotel, gorgeous view, well maintained rooms, courteous staff, huge variety of food at every buffet, Enjoyed ourselves at the huge pool. More than what we expected.

We had booked the hotel for 1 night and had stayed there with my wife and kids.

The hotel location is excellent for those who want a break from the hustle bustle of the city. It has a lovely big swimming pool, which is well maintained. The rooms are good, but the batroom fittings are kind of rusted and the shower in our room was leaky and we could get hot water only after 3/4 calls to the house keeping and duty manager, which took 4-5 hours to be resolved !!

They do not provide shower gel and body lotion as a part of standard toiletries!!! when asked for the same, they said that shower gel would cost us extra !!! (never seen like this even in a 3 star hotel!!!)

The complimentary water is provided in a pet bottle - which is filled by the hotel - it is not a packaged drinking water bottle.

The service by house keeping staff is very lethargic. We asked for a plate and spoons, which was not delivered at all in our room.

The buffet breakfast, which was included in our package, was laid out in a banquet hall and not in the restaurant. When enquired the reason behind it, they said that they are having several guests, hence it is normal for the weekends. I must say, it wasn't a good experience of having lunch at the banquet hall ! Also, the breakfast quality spread was average.

They have a children (good for children of 2 to 7 years) play area, which was decent.

The lobby staff is very helpful and they came to us to help with my baggages whenever we went out or came back.

If you do not want to have lunch / dinner at the Hotel, there is a fast food joint about 2 kms from teh hotel towards "The Resort" - "Vrunda's Rush Point".

Room Tip: We had opted for a palm facing room, which had a lovely view from my room - and because of rains for...

I stayed with my entire family on 28th /29th June , we have taken 4 rooms and the rooms were very comfirtable giving a very good view . The swimming pool is very good and most of the time the kids were in th pool only. The other recreation areas are games room with tt, carrom, etc and a DJ nite .
The food was good and got a decent spread to choose ,Ex. Chef Mr. Bhatt is very nicely managing the show. the biggest plus point is the staff, right from the concierge to the resident manager Mr. Pagare all were very good and made the stay very comfortable.
Its a very nice place for a weekend break and will visit again.
Keep it up!!!!
Special offered

Room Tip: Try to take the rooms on a higher floor facing the pool which offers a very good view.

Please read guys before booking yourselves a relaxing vacation. These reviews are great first hand feedbacks of people been there done that. This place is a total scam.
Have posted this review on as many sites as possible..
I had taken my wife for a Monday night getaway from the Mumbai hustle and bustle. We booked a Pool view Deluxe room. On arriving the Concierge and Reception warmly greeted us. We were given our room quickly (5-10min) and escorted by the bellboy. On reaching the room, while I settled things, my wife went to check out the pool view. We were given the wrong room i.e. non pool facing. On informing them that we had paid for one, they quickly changed our room. The rooms as per us were def not 5-star quality. They looked quite shady, no bedspread on the bed, the bathroom was with grime all over, stunk of smoke even though rooms are non-smoking, no complimentary bottled water i.e. there was purified unsealed drinking water - Unbelievable. Please see pic for proof.
The pool was full of green moss, and there was no doubt we weren't going to step into that pool.
There was a pussycat seen drinking water from the pool, the guy was cleaning in and around d pool, with no filtration happening while there were some kids swimming simultaneously. There was no lifeguard or pool attendant.
For lunch, we went to the Tangerine Café as The Oriental Bowl was shut. We had opted for the a-la-carte instead of the buffet in our package.
The service was terrible, the waiter fumbling his way through everything, had no clue of what's on the menu, what was in the bar, dropped things while serving, dropped biryani rice in my drink while serving, service took forever that too after repeated reminders from us. This when there was just us, another 2 couples, a family of maybe 8 and some guys attending a Mahindra convention, hate too think what would happen if the hotel ran at full capacity.
Also had ordered boondi raita which after awhile we were told was not available, so we ordered potato raita, which we unfortunately saw was drawn from the available raita from the buffet and garnished and served to us. Terrible!!!!
Afternoon snooze was disturbed by bell being run at 5 to ask if we had any laundry???
Paid a visit to the recreation room which in our view was the only good thing about the hotel..
Had fun playing some TT, Foosball and Carom.
Water for bath is lukewarm at max. For dinner we encountered the same terrible service fate.
However what was worse was the dudes from the Mahindra convention who were disgusting. They kept screaming at the waiters, acting like they owned the place, staring at the ladies from the Family which made the Head of that family really angry who complained to the Restaurant manager after those guys left. It was quite a show as the manager, some head waiters, waiters and even chefs form the kitchen gathered around to watch d show forgetting all their other duties.
Disgraceful...I hope that guy's complaint was taken seriously by the Senior Management at least.
Will never visit this place again. Couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning post the stale buffet breakfast
Hope this review was helpful to you'll guys. Enjoy your vacation...Cheers!!!

We'll...I must say that the title of my review comes with the caveat that it stinks but for no fault of the management!
The property is good with a very artistic and large pool (which remains dirty most of the time)- yet again, for no fault of the management!
The turn off is the atmosphere- staled with the drying sea fishes just outside the property. The entire atmosphere is so much filled with the pungent smell of the drying fish that it becomes a little too much for even the hard core non vegetarians! The property has a private beach, don't even dare to step out, it's full of the fishermen drying their fishes. Infact if you take a stroll outside your room or at the pool side, you will see Bombay ducks strewn on the ground!
A waste of money...avoid!

I stayed for one day and one night at The Retreat, Madh Island. The room given was good but i found the following deficiencies:
1. Room in which I stayed had deformed grills
2. The water in the washbasin was getting choked and inspite of repeated complaint, no response received.
3. The reception female staff was not very receptive
4. We were told that pillows were there in the cupboard but could not find them.
Considering the cost of the room, the amenities and the service was not so good. But the valet service and the other staff were receptive.

Room Tip: Rooms with any view is good enuf. We stayed in garden facing room which was also ok.

We in Mumbai have no dearth of weekend getaways outside of our city, but spending a weekend within the city, and yet getting the feeling of being away from it is what I experienced at The Retreat.

We had negotiated a good weekend package, inclusive of all meals, and it was a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. Right from the time we checked in to our checkout 2 nights later, we felt pampered and totally refreshed at the end of it.

We were welcomed with fresh coconut water and shown up to our room on the fifth floor, which overlooked the pool as well as the beach beyond. Swaying palms, light drizzles and dreamy weather was what our escape was all about.

The Tangerine coffee shop where we had all our buffet meals is set in a nice ambience, overlooking the garden and pool. Food was excellent with a wide variety and a mix of Indian and continental.

Since the located is a bit far from the main city, its good to have your own vehicle. We called for an AC private cab, and that took almost 45 minutes to arrive. So time yourself accordingly before you check out.

Room Tip: Higher floor deluxe rooms or the executive deluxe room which we had stayed in, which was sea facing
