The liveried flunkey holds out a placard with your name on it at Mumbai Airport. The opening line is "Good morning sir, your BMW is waiting". A quick call and a few minutes later, a 7 Series pulls up in front of you and you're whisked away to what is one of Mumbai's most luxurious hotels.

Situated at Worli, the Four Seasons Hotel is close enough to the business districts of South Bombay, while retaining its connectivity with the airport and the suburbs. I was exceedingly impressed with the lobby- large, spacious and a really high ceiling. The rooms are mostly sea facing- mine on the 16th floor gave me enough of a view to see the sea-link.

The mini-bar is well stocked, the bed is just what you need after a long hard day of boardroom battles, and the service is exemplary. I was particularly impressed by their response time in terms of room service, even if it was for ordering coffee in the middle of the night.

The hotel has the usual trappings of a five-plus-star- the open-air swimming pool, the well equipped spa and gym, the multi-cuisine restaurants. A word about the restaurants though- dont expect out of the ordinary food. This is extended into the breakfast buffet, which could have been a wider spread.

But overall, I could not have had a better experience in a hotel in Bombay. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Sea facing- the higher the better!

This is a great hotel in Mumbai and while the surrounding area may not be the best it is close to everything. This is a modern hotel where the rooms were the most comfortable I stayed in during my trip to India. The hotel lobby is small but that keeps it very peacefull and quite most days. The service was excellent from room service to the concierge desk. I would stay here again when in Mumbai.

The Hotel is as you would expect for 4 Seasons, immaculately clean with the best and most helpful staff. The concierge were particularly helpful and very knowledgeable of local restaurants and local sights. The only thing to note is the area is a little down market after dark but this is Mumbai so don’t be too surprised, every corner in the City is a new surprise – strongly recommend this Hotel

The Four Seasons Mumbai is a luxurious hotel that seems more like a resort than an urban hotel. While located central to the business district, close to the airport and on a busy road, once you enter the gates to the hotel, you really feel transported to a calming oasis. The rooms are spacious and immaculate with all the amenities you need away from home including lots of bottled water. As others have mentioned, there are views of a slum from most windows but this is Mumbai and you quickly understand that everything fits together is this evolving city. Everywhere you go, old and new, rich and poor blends and it seems to accepted by mostly everyone. Whether you are there on business or a vacation, you must visit the spa which is relaxing and has first rate services. The full service gym is available for your use 24 hours and there is a daily yoga class at 7:00am which is a great way to start the day. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room on the lobby level. There is a buffet as well as a full menu which is varied and has traditional American choices as well as traditional Indian dishes. All of which were delicious especially the breads and pastries. The restaurant on site, San-Qi, is beautiful and amazing with Indian, Thai, Japanese and Chinese menu options. You must go to the roof top bar, Aer, for drinks and magnificent views of the city. There is a mosque located close by and depending on where you are in the hotel you might hear the morning and evening prayers. The first time I heard them was while at the pool area and honestly, it really did add to the ambience of the city. I couldn't hear them from my room and faintly while in Yoga class but again, it really was soothing. Lastly and the real reason this hotel is amazing is because of the service. Everyone is there to ensure that your stay is most memorable. The concierge desk is up to date on everything Mumbai. Apekska arranged an amazing tour of the city and made recommendations for wonderful diners. The Four Seasons hotel is one I would return to again and again when in Mumbai.
