“authentic Goan food”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

The ambience , decor and menu of this place adds a different dimension to one's experience. To begin with the cocktails are a must- Pinna colada and Long Island literally lift you to another level.
The fish thali and the inter mix between Goan and Portugese foods are a sure delight for the belly.
A great location to party and celebrate with friends. Highly affordable and opened for those late risers.

“Quality deteriorated”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

I had been for a dinner at Soul Fry in 2006/2007 and it was wonderful then as I had fond memories of the dinner we had, alongwith complimentary round of Captain Morgan Rum with Coke :). This time I went for lunch on a Saturday. Reaching there the place looked deserted and I had to confirm with one of the staff if the restaurant was open.

Food - overall 7/10
Butter Garlic Squid - 6/10
Bombil Fry - 9/10
Portuguese Prawn rice - 7/10

The base/sauce of butter garlic squid was wonderful (though not the best, the best i had was at The Village, Managlore), but the squid itself was not fresh.
Bombil fry was the best, nice and crisp on the outside and so tender inside that it just melts in your mouth.
Portuguese prawn rice was basically a pulao with a nice tangy prawn gravy on the top. It tasted good, but guess it had baking soda/MSD added as we were feeling dehydrated after sometime of having lunch

Ambiance - 7/10

Service - 6/10

Maybe it was beacuse after a hectice Friday night they were getting their bearings right during lunch on a Saturday

Beverage - 2/10

Thought will check out the fresh lime juice with sugar before going to cocktails. Changed the fresh lime twice as itt was very bitter, third one was also not great so left it at that

Value for Money - 6/10

Food for 2 cost INR 1000

Overall - 6/10

I had a better experience on a Saturday night dinner 6 years ago

“Excellent seafood”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

The food I tried at this place was great. Great value for the money. Lots of goan style dishes. I recommend asking for recommendations from the staff, as the dishes they recommended were the best we tried. The tables are very close together, but not so close you can't have some privacy. Service is good and quick.

“Amazing food !”
Reviewed 20 April 2013

I was a long stayer at Taj Lands End and was trotting the bylanes of Pali hill one evening. Saw the place and went inside for a quick bite. Had a pint of beer and 'Tamdi Komdi' with Roti. I had actually left the order to the staff. Probably the best 'Chicken Preparation i ever had. It was toooo good. Bursting with goan flavours. Thinly sliced chicken picattas in Red chilli n vinegar paste. Absolutely rustic flavours. I could never go back to the place but just because of this one dish, have recommended Soul Fry to atleast 20 friends. And i will definitely go back there whenever I am in mumbai next. :)
