The place is amazingly quaint and quiet. The luxury feel is fairly high – as is only expected since the royals at some point were using this in time. The rooms were absolutely neat and clean. Aircon very effective (albeit – didn't quite need it in the December evenings).
The food was ok; could have been better. Was surprised by the fact that they could provide waffles, unfortunately not with ‘melted’ butter, which was quite a dampener in the winters. But, we had only breakfast here, and did not have lunch or dinner, so to that extent the opinion is coloured.
The feel of the place is very relaxed. You can play pool/carom etc and since its open air, it's a different feel.
Since we checked in late night and checked out early morn, dindt get enough opportunity to evaluate the service/ housekeeping.
Not too far from the hotel (walkable, albeit not necessarily walking, distance) from the hotel is a small trek through rocky terrain (about 20-25 mins max to get to the top). It takes you to a hilltop which gives you a panaromic 360 deg view of the village. It is worth a try!! Especially if you can make it here for a sunrise view. Awesome!! See attached fotos.
The pricing could have been a little more affordable. Even after discounting for the fact that this place is fairly preferred by foreign tourists.
The overall experience was very nice.

The Samode Bagh resort is situated some distance from Jaipur and could be somewhat difficult to find and harder to get to on bumpy narrow rural roads once you leave the main routes. So you will probably need a skilled and knowledgeable driver familiar with the various highways and byways. When you get there, you will find that the resort provides a rustic, lovely, and charming getaway for a weekend of relaxation or for a ceremonial occasion such as a wedding. You're certainly not roughing it at the Samode Bagh, but don't expect luxury in the accommodations.

The beautifully landscaped grounds include a large garden area surrounded on all sides by individual cabanas or “tents” (actually small tented bungalows) that serve as roomy guest quarters, along with a large dining hall. A pool table and equipment are available at the gazebo in the middle of the garden. Just outside the main garden area and up a stairway is an outdoor swimming pool and a theatrical room where traditional Indian music and dance numbers are performed on occasion for hotel guests, wedding party members, and assorted celebrators. Don't miss it if there is a performance during your stay.

The guest quarters are cozy but somewhat austere -- in keeping with the "rustic getaway" idea, you will not be troubled by such modern conveniences as television or Internet. But you will get an in-room safe (with a metal key), a landline phone, air conditioning, and an old-fashioned radiator for heat in the winter. The bathroom is equipped with aging but functional plumbing, although it takes quite a while to generate warm water in the shower or sink, and the water never gets hotter than lukewarm. Otherwise, the shower, sink, and flush toilet all work fine. The bedroom features a desk, comfortable beds, good lighting (and an indispensable flashlight if the power fails, which happens intermittently at that remote location). There is no clock in the room, but you can get a wake-up call if requested.

A buffet breakfast is available in the dining hall with limited but adequate choices. Be sure to visit the nearby Samode Village for the magnificent, historic 15th century Samode Palace, where you can tour the fascinating interior and enjoy an excellent multi-course dinner.

All in all, the Samode Bagh resort offers quiet relaxation in a historic locale reasonably close to Jaipur but far both geographically and physically from the hustle, bustle, and organized chaos of 20th century urban India. If you're looking for a refreshing change of scene and tempo and don't mind some inconvenience in travel and the absence of a few luxury amenities, give it a try. It may or may not be your cup of tea, but it certainly will be different.

I went with my family(2 Adults+1 Kid) to Samode Bagh in August 2010. I was a little skeptical of the whole trip as it was rainy season in the North but the rain actually took the stay to another level. The approach road to the Bagh is a little wobbly and you get the feeling that this might be a lost case. But noooo. This resort is the perfect way to get way from the madness of NCR life.

You are welcomed to the resort like a King and led to your luxury, sorry, ultra luxury tent. It is neither small nor very big, just the right size. It has Air-conditioning and heating, a dressing area, a small portico/verandah which can comfortably seat two people and some wall cabinets.
The verandah makes for a splendid view if you are there in the rains having chai and pakodas. :-)

The rest of the Bagh is huge - It has a swimming pool too and a garden area where there are deers and peacocks roaming around. The resort arranges Jeep Safaris and trips to Samode Palace which I took. Samode palace is good too but staying in Samode Bagh gives you a different feel. The Bagh has internet too.

The only downside of the resort is that you don't have room service. Not much of an issue as the kitchen/dining area is in the middle of the tents and just a 100 meter walk. Maybe lesser. The service is really really good and food is delicious. A lot of choice in the buffet.

Must visit if you want to be treated like royalty!

My wife and I spent three nights in November 2013 as a part of a large wedding group. As a result we saw the ability of the hotel to handle very large numbers, and they were absolutely immaculate. The tented independent rooms deceived only to surprise since they were very well equipped internally, bathroom was very comfortable, lots of hot water [solar I believe as no visible power switches], good linen. Beds were too comfortable so it was difficult to wake up ! Reading lights were excellent and lots of plug points for charging phones, laptops etc but not too well positioned. Mercifully, no television. Simple shelves and clothes hanging space but the paint used flakes off onto dark garments and is a bit of a problem. It was chilly so we had to rotate the portable heater between the dressing room and bedroom in order to feel comfortable.
Room service and assistance pretty prompt, and all staff were uniformly cheerful and helpful.
Early morning in the sitout, on the comfortable armchairs, cup of tea to hand, swatting away a buzzing bee and watching a stately peacock walk by is a very peaceful way to start the day.
The outdoor tented recreation facilities positioned near the dining room and reception are adequate and fun if you have the time or inclination.
If you walk through what looks like a long administrative building spanning the entire Northern boundary, you emerge into the pool area, and a regal and large pavilion that opens out onto a low terrace, then down to two very large lawns that are separated by a raised brick walkway. These lawns were used on different days for a party with lunch buffet service, outdoor bar, variety of typical Rajasthani dancers, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers, tarot card readers etc creating a serene yet bustling atmosphere. The next day the residents were holding a small cricket match there !
Friendly chef who actually allowed one of our group to cook a special mutton curry and rendered all support too.
Definitely worth a visit.
